It’s quite simple the three-quarters must be strengthened otherwise we won’t be contenders. They currently lack the ‘X’ factor needed to take us to the next level and win some silverware. If we don’t take the chance we have now when we are so close we will regret it for years.

There’s plenty of options out there for us that would take us to the next level I just cant believe we’ve spent up if we have when we knew we’d need a fullback and centre we’ve not planned yet again

Natives are restless...
Tigerade said we'd signed a centre last week but not announced him yet obviously
I for one believe him

So if we start the season with

Peanut
Clare
Minikin
Shenton
Eden

That to me is fine but if any get injured we're a very weakened side imo

Put that up against
Walker 2x briscoe watkins and and hurrel at leeds
Ratchford lineham charnley king and goodwin at warrington
Coote makinson grace percival nequama at sts
Hardaker davis burgess gildart sarginson at wigan
Id say those 4 all beat ours probs with the exception of leeds they all have better depth too

It is far from fine that back line there’s no go forward at all at times last year we struggled to get out of our own 20 we need a powerful centre / winger who can get us on front foot

You can add wakefields three quarters to that list and that's a bigger worry

You can also add Huddersfield to it. A three-quarter line of McGillivray, Cudjoe, Turner & Uate isn't too shabby at all.

it would be a joke to start clare minikin all the time weve had to bring a centre in ...if that was to occur i would play matautia in the centre minikin matautia shenny eden looks good and risk turner at full-back,but i cant believe we will go into a new season a player short in a key position like we did last season

I'd leave Matautia at full back, he looked the part when I saw him last season.

Oh dear. As per other posts, that back line ranks as one of the worse in SL if that is indeed what we start 2019 with.

If that is our best back line then it will save us booking hotels in London come August and Manchester come October.

Minikin and Clare aren’t good enough in those positions if we are to push on. Minikin to stay on the wing with a strong replacement for Webster.

We also need to look at our back up because any injuries and we are in the brown stuff.

I'm with you aswell Fumper, that back line is far from fine to go into a SL season with. If we don't sign anyone I think Shenny has to switch back to the right inside Minikin and Wardle goes left inside Eden. Far from ideal, but sightly better - Clare isn't s starting winger (thats not a dig at him by the way, he's a great back up and deserves a place in the squad, but he's not a first 17 player IMO). I do class Minikin as a future centre, but for him to go there he needs a top class winger outside him, so unless we have a winger lined up then Minikin stops on the wing for me - If any of that makes sense?!

We need to strengthen the back line we can’t have a scenario like the full back one this year ! Can’t see us signing Sau tbf don’t think Salford will let go they’ve quota places if they want to sign another player before letting a quota player go tbf so if they sign inu as rumoured they’ll still be covered
