Jake Trueman Signs
Jake Trueman Signs
New 4 year deal. Great for the club to keep him on a long term deal.

Re: Jake Trueman Signs
He can now concentrate on his rugby because he has a 4 year deal instead of a 3 year deal??
Why would a young kid (albeit talented kid ) be looking for a new deal when he only signed a 3 year contract earlier this year?

Waki and Huddersfield to finish above us next season.

Just an improved one but lasting until 2022 not 2021 as before.SWISS TONY!! wrote:Is it a 4 year deal or a 4 year extension?
Takes up more cap but we'll worth it.
Hope we have enough left for 1 or 2 others still

Re: Jake Trueman Signs
I’d assume it will be a staggered increase so may not take up as much cap space next year and probably similar to what he would’ve wasn’t next year anyway with bigger increases in years 2-4.

It'll be his agent. I would reckon it's part of a pay rise negotiation.Mr XP wrote:He can now concentrate on his rugby because he has a 4 year deal instead of a 3 year deal??

Re: Jake Trueman Signs
If you compare what happened to a normal work place he has been "acting up" last season and been promoted this season and I'm damn sure anybody doing this in there workplace would expect a pay rise accordingly
I know I would so why shouldn't you jake he has done a great job for us last year
A promotion at work should get a pay rise

The club are doing the right thing. JT had an unbelievable season and deserves the reward. It sends a message to all the youngsters to Put in the effort and you will be rewarded. It shows loyalty to JT that the club won't prevent giving him what he deserves, because he has a long contract still to run. We are treating our players right and will only encourage other great and potentially great players to come on over.

He deserves a pay rise. Been playing on a low contract but will be our number 6 next year. Deserves more money.
Re: Jake Trueman Signs
Great news.
This lad is the best prospect I've seen in 40 odd years. He's got everything needed to be a world class half back
He's not far off being our number 1 half at 19! Fully deserves a contract upgrade, he's probably the main reason we made the play offs.
Don't understand anyone moaning about the spare cap being used on lads like this.
Needs to keep working hard and he could be anything.

Re: Jake Trueman Signs
Doesn’t matter. For salary cap purposes the total value of the contract is averaged over the number of years the contract runs. If he’s on 50k in year 1, 75k in year 2, 100k in year 3 and 125k in year 4, his contact would count as the average every season (87.5k).da_jimbob_7 wrote:I’d assume it will be a staggered increase so may not take up as much cap space next year and probably similar to what he would’ve wasn’t next year anyway with bigger increases in years 2-4.
This has been the case for many years to stop clubs (Wigan) back-loading contracts to manipulate the “spirit of the cap”.

Correct future England player cas captain you either act now or see him go to Wigan and saints in two years time terrific newsBoom wrote:Great news.

Looking at this forum sometimes, is like looking at it when we used to have Matterson and Millward in charge. It's all doom and gloom with some people! wasn't that long ago we was having young lads nicked off us for peanuts, now we're keeping them and people still aren't happy. It's beggars belief.

I agree but it’s only a tiny minority and the whole forum is a tiny minority in the first place

Just cos we used to be rubbish doesn’t mean we should just settle for anything.heritage1926 wrote:Looking at this forum sometimes, is like looking at it when we used to have Matterson and Millward in charge. I wanna see us win trophies not keep seeing us lose at final hurdle.
3 players could see us winning something at last.

I bet most of them are new supporters who didn't see us under relegation with Matterson and Mercer.Tamworth Tiger wrote:I agree but it’s only a tiny minority and the whole forum is a tiny minority in the first place

You can't please everyone, but what do they want? Truey will be the future first choice England half in my opinion.
Great bit of business to stop anyone else coming in for him. No doubt he was on a lot of radar's.
