New players for next season?

Post by Bolton-tiger » 07 Oct 2018, 10:05

Who would people like to see announced for next year as i think we need key positions improving ie centres and get rid of the dead weight in the team who offers nothing to free up cap space

It's ok saying 'get rid'

I guess you mean guys like Ellis, Springer, Aston, Maher?

All in contract so who is going to pay for the transfer fee?

If we have injuries next year who covers their squad status?

Agree we need a centre, but we also need a squad!

Gadwin could be like a new signing if we get him fully fit this year he never got fit with his pubis injury or what ever it was.
For me Roberts is the one who offers the least imo had a Terrible 2018 can't think him looking a danger at any point Ellis is a steady back up does the basics but not ever gunna be 1st choice.
I'm don't think Douglas has been kept on but imo he's miles in front if big will Aston why we got him still confuses me it's clear to everyone we need a big off season and either a full back or centre

It’s frustrating as there seems to be loads of good centres on the market but we seem to be to the cap for next year already

Wardle has to go he does not want to play at centre and not our best option at Sr Aston and Maher too think we need a winger more than a centre and if Ellis is going that gives us squad space aswell having foster back will be like a new singing anyway

Think Douglas gone to Donnie... I think it will be a season of making do with what we've got then getting rid of a number of players
Id try to pay Roberts off he offers nothing apart from his tackling which is good

Ellis won't go he's got a three year deal in his back pocket

Most teams are going be a lot weeker next season
Wigan won’t be anywhere near as good
Wire will be same as this season top 4
Saints will more then likely run away with it again.
Leeds are miles off so are Hull
Top 4 be same with Catalan 5th.

Wigan still good under Edwards I reckon. If Zak plays then he is the best FB in the comp.
Saints will be even better next year I think.
Wire have strengthened.
Hudds and Catalans will take some beating.
Not sure what will happen at Hull. As long as Radford is there I will be surprised to see them near top 3.
We should be a top 5 side.
Wakefield will place similarly I imagine.
HKR and Salford will be average.
Leeds will struggle.

I can see Wigan not getting in the top four Tompkins and more important Bateman and Wane not there it would only take there new full -back to screw up and they would be towing

He's not Tamworth it's Ady Lam. Edwards has Union commitments with Wales through the 6 nations and World Cup. Shaun takes the reigns 2020

Ahh you are right. Forgot about that. Hopeful Lam won't be able to do as well.

Anybody else see peacocks view on us on the BBC re-run. He sees us a team which Powell brings the best out of them which is great going through the season and will always see us well placed in the table but we will always fall short when it comes to the play off knock out games,I know a lot of you will brush off his comment because of his background but the more I've thought about the more I tend to agree.

We are 1/2 quality players away from been where we want to be and IMO I'd be happy if we could bring in a centre and a winger one with genuine pace the other with size and power. Do I think we will get either, time will tell. Krisnan inu is a player I'd be keeping tabs on a bit of a nomad but a player that as natural ability who is exactly the player DP could bring the best out of,could be the perfect fit for both player and club.

If we spend up to the cap, and we are making a profit, and the stadium looks on target, is it time to consider a marquee signing who could have maybe broken up the game for us ?

A middle man or a centre?

I actually think DP sees foster as a more than capable centre and I agree with him.id have no qualms foster taking Webster’s place next season

I see no problem there and trust in Daryl’s judgement all day long.
The only thing is I would hope he is honest enough with himself in deciding whether foster could do a job or whether a Tupou/ Percival like Quality performer is what we must aim to.

Yeah we need a man like gallen was few years ago been there done it seen it all steady ship in big games
Don't know what peacocks on about unless it's were new kids on the block and you have to loose a few big games before you can win c.c and grand finals
