Could see this coming ages ago. They just couldn't sign the players they have and keep under the cap. I don't think he'd have asked for a release without a contract at another club.

Was strange when Kevin Naiqama said he was leaving because he wanted to play full back

I don't understand saints just releasing him. Surely they deserve a transfer fee. They brought him in from the wilderness when Australia had washed their hands of him and to just release him "ON COMPASSIONATE GROUNDS " With a year on his contract seems a strange one

Id guess it was written in his contract that he could return to nrl if he wanted to after first season.

he does seem to have lost his way a touch from about halfway through the season but it may well have been the case of already knowing Saints would let him go.

No great loss from SL, IMO.

It’s the same pattern all the way through his career play somewhere for a season or two then leave.

He’s average at best but looks world class in our league.A very sad sign of the times

Anyone else think that the wheels have come off at Saints? Richardson looked overwhelmed, Barba disinterested, Roby overpowered down the middle, forwards lacking fire and their signature passing game was woeful at times IMO.

Guys, you are sometimes only as good as the opposition allows you to be and Wigan were world class last night and didn't give Saints the time and space to play their fast paced game and when they tried to up the speed even more, they faltered.

Barba was overwhelmed by the Wigan tackling and Wigan specifically did a number on both him and Roby. Wigan were brilliant in the chase back when Saints did make a break through.

I very much doubt that any SL side would beat Wigan in that mood and would have to raise their game to do so - that was one hell of a performance from them sad to say ! The pace of the game was the fastest I have seen this year and I was expecting to slow towards the end but the fitness levels demonstrated were something to behold throughout.

The game last night was outstanding to watch from a neutral position and it wasn't as if Saints played bad at all, Wigan trumped them !
