Remaining fixtures before the split

Post by SuffolkTiger » 24 Jun 2018, 20:36

Saints look nailed on to finish first after 23 games ready for the top 8 stage (and take the LLS at the end of 30 games)

Remaing 5 games for the teams contesting the other 3 spots are (not all SKY games announced yet):

Cas
- Catalans (A) (SKY)
- Leeds (H)
- Salford (A)
- Hudds (H)
- Widnes (A)

Wigan
- Leeds (H) (SKY)
- Wire (H) (SKY)
- Hudds (A)
- Saints (H) (SKY)
- Catalans (H)

Wire
- Salford (H)
- Wigan (A) (SKY)
- Catalans (H) (SKY)
- Hull KR (A)
- Saints (A) (SKY)

Hull
- Widnes (A)
- Hudds (A) (SKY)
- Saints (H)
- Wakey (A)
- Hull KR (H)

All to play for...

Good result at Fartown for us tonight.

A win on Sunday and we start to look ok for 3rd after 23 games.

Hull looked off it tonight. Wire beatable and a tougher last few games left for them.

We have to beat Leeds on Sunday. Thats the first job, there will be many twists and turns just in these last few games before the split.

I think it will be interesting to see how Saints would cope if they had an injury crisis similar to us or Leeds.

No Barba or Makinson this week by all accounts.

We must get back to winning ways Sunday and right the wrongs of last week.
Tonight's fixture is an interesting one as Wigan will be wanting to put a little bit of daylight between us and wire

Could HKR overtake Leeds before the split? Which would be significant when fixtures are worked out

With the announcement of Subfield as Director of Rugby and Lowes as coach we will have to be at the top of our game to win this one. They will get a massive uplift from this. Not one Cas player can go into this game thinking it will be a walk in the park. Let's just smash them.

Warrington v Pies. Who do want to win? Can't work it out, the crystal ball has melted.
To finish last in the Tour de France, first you must finish.

Very nearly...….
A draw would have made it very interesting for the last rounds of the regular season, as both these teams have to play Saints yet.
Just as an observation: The Sky team (especially Phil Clarke) conveniently forgot to mention that Wire scored more tries than the Pies in their unanimous opinion that Wigan deserved to win :P

a lot can change during the super 8's but as things stand if we beat whino's we would go 3rd. if positions then remained the same we would play wigan in the semi which would be better than saints. hopefully we can climb to 2nd and get a home semi again. some one is going to have to come up with a very good run now to dislodge the current top 4.

To be fair didn’t they outscore us on tries recently?

Yes but it was reported as such - not like last night.
