RFL Statement
A Rugby Football League Spokesperson, said: "The Rugby Football League can confirm that Zak Hardaker is provisionally suspended from all competition after it received notification from UK Anti-Doping that he had tested positive for a banned substance following a Super 8s game between Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos on September 8, 2017.
"He will therefore not be considered for the England Rugby League World Cup squad due to be announced today (Monday) at 12pm.

Re: RFL Statement - Zak Hardaker
So if he failed on 8th September, which genius thought it wise to wait until 2 hours before the 19 man squad for the Grand Final was due to be announced, nearly a month after the failed test? Appalling stuff by UKAD. They could have done it weeks ago.
Re: DRUGS
Not a surprise. His "mates" that he hangs around with have been regular users _ just hoped that Hardacker had more sense, Seems not!

Re: RFL Statement - Zak Hardaker
Hardaker is a total Muppet, a child in a mans body. I do like zak but we need to dump him Asap
Re: DRUGS
It dosent actually mention Cocaine... it might be something totally different. A joint statement is due out from the club and Zak this morning. Grasping at straws but can’t believe he’s that stupid

Re: DRUGS
No sympathy from me at all. Let himself, DP, his team mates and the fans down big time. Career over, we need to get shut and move on.
Re: DRUGS
Doesn't have to be hard drugs could be something in a protein drink or cough/cold medicine

Re: DRUGS
25 years old.
A fabulous career in front of him.
A massive wage.
Cas fans who once hated him now love him.
A coach who took him under his wing and got him playing at the top if his game.
150k spent on him.
For what, to throw it all back in our faces ten fold.
So that’s an automatic 2yr ban which will take him to the end of his contract with us.
He will then be free to sign for whoever he want.
Leaving us with out a fullback and 1000’s of pounds out of pocket.
Thanks a lot you selfish flat capper.

Re: DRUGS
Cas should take legal action against him and reclaim lost money.
Re: DRUGS
Some cas fans have given up on him already and are assuming it's the worst case scenario.lets just wait for the ins and outs before we throw him on the rugby league scrap heap
Re: DRUGS
It could be. I sometimes have to take painkillers that are on the ukada banned list. The issue sometimes isn’t black and whiteScoopage wrote:Doesn't have to be hard drugs could be something in a protein drink or cough/cold medicine

It’s a BANNED substance.
So that’s a ban of 2 years.
I hope it is calpol or cold remedy, but come on, I doubt that very much.

Re: DRUGS
Yes it is. You don't take ANYTHING without the club Doctor signing off on it and it's still the same ban. But that isn't the case here...the Doctor isn't signing off on what this moron has done.tallguyx wrote:It could be. I sometimes have to take painkillers that are on the ukada banned list. Re: DRUGS
I'm reserving judgement till I've heard the whole story. When Chase and walker were banned the statement was that they'd tested positive for cocaine. Zak has been suspended for failing a drugs test as the statement reads . Let's just wait and see

Yes.
Re: DRUGS
BBC are reporting it's Cocaine.
This is the rumour I heard and guardedly posted about just days after the test....
