Jeremy Corbyn new Labour leader Lol

Post by alftupper » 12 Sep 2015, 12:33

As a longtime Tory voter I think I can for once agree with the comrades of the Labour Party and say I am truly overjoyed with Jezza's landslide victory. His policy ideas really are quite frightening if it were not for the fact he stands as much chance of becoming PM as Shergar.

I am sure this will condemn Labour to decades of opposition and in-fighting and hopefully give the Conservative Party a chance to shift further to the Right.

Totally agree. This result takes labour back to the days of Michael Foot and means they are totally unelectable. The next election will be a landslide for the Tory party. Anybody who thinks otherwise is deluded. If you cant appeal to 'middle england ' then your chances of forming a government are zero. Although i am a Tory i do beliieve its important in a democracy to have strong opposition. Not a good result in my opinion

what has shocked me having read more about Corbyn and his mad as a hatter policies is the fact that he is an MP at all, his ideas don't seem to bear any resemblance to the Labour Parties policies of which he is a member. It just proves what I have said for a long time, stick a red rosette on any object animate or otherwise and your average Labour man will vote for it.

As for strong opposition, I agree and I know I'm dreaming but it would be great to see Ukip take up this challenge and we see Labour reduced to a fringe nutcase party for students and welfare spongers.

UKIP, the answer to all our problems? Tell another one! And you call Labour a nutcase party.

No one has the answer to all this countries problems but one thing is certain the 13 years of disastrous Labour rule has led to most of them.

With many well known so-called moderates resigning their posts on Labours front bench the next few days should make great entertainment as Comrade Codbyn appoints his shadow cabinet.

Dennis Skinner for Shadow Chancellor anyone?

Amazing isnt it,. One can only assume that if the socio communist policies he espouses are so great then he should bog off and live in North Korea or China. But no like so many others who live in the relative safety of the UK he presumes to tell us that there is a better way.

Glad to see my local MP Tristram Hunt has resigned his position from the Shadow Cabinet.

Ah well Be Looney Be Left Be Labour

Stokie.

At 66 years old he will be 71 at the next election. Totally un-votable IMO.

His policies alone make him totally unelectable.

Yes but Cooper will be voted in with the usual massive majority as always which speaks volumes of the local electorate.

I imagine Alf is attempting to stir up a hornets nest here, but as a Labour Party member, I have to say that my vote, for what it's worth, went to Yvette Cooper, who I believe would have done a much better job than Jeremy and more importantly, I believe she would have had a great chance of winning the next election.

The biggest problem I have with Jeremy, is that I can't see him appealing to enough voters to be elected in 2020 (if he is still the leader at that point in time) and whilst he did get a big mandate from members and the so called £3 voters, sadly this will not be reflected in a general election, as I believe the middle ground voters, who really decide the outcome of an election, won't bend far enough to the left.

All that said, I think Jeremy is a sincere man who cares about the most vulnerable and needy in society and wants to make Britain a place where everyone is valued and respected and given access to the same opportunities.

His statements following the recent terrorist atrocities have shown this pathetic excuse for a leader to be an actually bigger danger than I first thought. He has already admitted that faced with nuclear destruction he would not protect us, he has questioned whether the killing of the executioner in chief in Syria is legal and now says he would be against our security forces shooting to kill murderous terrorist reaping mayhem on our streets.

Anybody who votes Labour while this bloke is their leader is a traitor as far as I'm concerned.

Don't talk out of your backside, I agree that some of the words he utters are unpopular and I definitely don't agree with everything he says, but to say all Labour supporters are traitors is pathetic and totally unacceptable. You may as well say that the Tories who sold off the public silver are traitors, but they are not either, they do what they believe in.
The thoughts of JC (no not Justin Carney) are not necessarily those of the whole of the Labour Party, he is the leader, but as a democratically elected leader, the party will decide policy.

What JC has done is opened up a public debate, which is positive!

I thought at the time this cynical opportunist would come a cropper and thankfully she is now being taken to task, listen to her squirming evasion on this recent interview.
