As per @leagueexpress, Toronto have secured O'Brien ahead of Leigh and Castleford. The Wolfpack paid a bigger transfer fee to secure the fullback than the Tigers.
Looks like we tried to nick him of Toronto, but he’s gone where the money is.

Yeah not too bothered. Had we signed him in close season everyone would have been up in arms at lack of ambition when replacing Zak.
I think club was right to look into it but clearly price wasn't right.

EVALDS is a FB, we should tempt Salford with an offer for him this year, test there metal.old cas lass wrote:As per @leagueexpress, Toronto have secured O'Brien ahead of Leigh and Castleford. The Wolfpack paid a bigger transfer fee to secure the fullback than the Tigers.

Guess it all depends on the plans for FB going forward.
Roberts for 2 yrs then back to Zak ?
Are we looking overseas for a specialist FB for 2019 and beyond ?
Are we looking at using the Under 19 Eng Fullback from 2019 ?
Re: Gareth o’brien
Roberts to me looks uncomfortable hes not a full back , im not suprised they inquired about obrien

Re: Gareth o’brien
we all know we are in dire need for a full back, Evalds put in some good touches yesterday and he could be a good shout short term, there are a few of there forwards that showed up well yesterday overshadowing most of our pack the one I really like is Flanagan what a work horse, At this moment in time with Salford wanting to off load players the signs are not good for them

Re: Gareth o’brien
Id rather have obrien than evalds, but if wolfpacks got him through throwing money at him then we look in other places.wolfpack sounds like another salford when the doctor was in charge trying to buy a team and it didnt work.

Kopczak is exactly the kind of forward we need too.gateman wrote:we all know we are in dire need for a full back, Evalds put in some good touches yesterday and he could be a good shout short term, there are a few of there forwards that showed up well yesterday overshadowing most of our pack the one I really like is Flanagan what a work horse, At this moment in time with Salford wanting to off load players the signs are not good for them

If we could tempt Evalds here i’d snatch their hand off.

The one thing we have learned is that there's some money left in the cap.
