I believe we spoke to him when he left Gold Coast to join Brisbane, but then the opportunity to sign Zak came up.

I also think people need to realise the difficult position the club are in at the moment. We can’t go out and spend Zak’s wage before his ban is confirmed. If there is still a tiny chance that Zak will get a short ban (or no ban at all) then we’d be over the cap and have two full backs (I know Mead can play on the wing, but we have enough wing-men too).

I’m also a bit surprised Mead hasn’t gone back to the Titans now Hayne has left.

I think this is a good signing for catalans after the world cup he had in attack he was one of the stand outs and experience with him being captin
