Basically that was due to so many of their U18's playing for their second team the day before.casyorkie wrote:Did Stanningley have full team on Sunday they cancelled game at Milford week before saying they only had 9 players.
I know, other teams do it, us being one of them and also Panthers and LL.
Its all a question of metal, some players have it and some don't.
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.

Now this is disturbing, a player for batley boys had his eye gauged by an upton player at the weekend (alledgedly just returned from 2 consecutive 9 months bans for serious misconduct by the way - 1 involving hitting a ref) and spent all sunday being treated in hospital for a detached retina.
this is why many clubs have moved away form the yorkshire league, too many idiots in there. rugby is suppposed to be hard and fair this is just disgusting.
by the way for best results the operation has to be performed whilst the patient is awake. give a thought for the poor lad who now has to have this.

Thats great that they cancell that game but as you can see from results Stanningley even at full strength rnt very good and Milford get an 18 nil result.
Last years Unde18's premier table was decided on points difference, this years could be same hope results like this dont affect the table too much.
Maybe your right about poeple metal as well with it been local derby that they couldnt play.

im not i coach the u9s now,our u8s are a relativly new team with only 3 players who played last year, tbh its going to be a tough year for them with most of the team only six years old and very raw,but they won their first game and narrowly lost their second so they might suprise a few.Normy Knight wrote:Are you up for that one?braytontiger wrote:sundays junior fixtures

Close game. I presume you mean 5 tries to 4 btw. My lad has just played his second game for Townville under 8s today, beating Dewsbury Celtic 44-12. Another cracking win for Townville, having easily beaten Drighlington and Batley over the last couple of weeks. Three wins from three so far!braytontiger wrote:normanton knights u8s 5 castleford panthers u8s 4

not sure how you come up with that score at u8s,do you mean 11-3 in tries which is how u8s scores are determined, its not until u9s that you start kicking goals and scoring points.marshman wrote:Close game. Yes matey. I just do it like that cos it's less confusing to my lad (and me tbh). I kind of understand why they score it like they do, but having spent all last season explaining most of the rules of the game to my lad, to then try and explain that he only gets one point for a try would just seem daft. Especially when next season he'll end up playing for full points again.braytontiger wrote:not sure how you come up with that score at u8s,do you mean 11-3 in tries which is how u8s scores are determined, its not until u9s that you start kicking goals and scoring points.marshman wrote:Close game. We won again against Stanningley, 26-24. A totally different game from last week due to the ref, 3 tries disallowed and yet we still won.WHELDON-ROAD-END wrote:How did the 18's do NK?
