Toronto / Visa
This sounds a bit worrying for visiting teams to Toronto.
Surely the RFL must address this
One way to get them promoted - refuse entry to the opposition star players!!

Re: Toronto / Visa
There's a long thread on this on TotalRL - it sounds more like players aren't being honest about their past when applying for the ETA (the travel pass you need) and so are being barred from flying.
The ETAs last 5 years and only cost a £10 a head - it makes sense that most clubs actually apply for them now to avoid any chance of players being barred.
TWP have also appointed a company of visa specialists to support clubs as well.

Yes they refuse entry to anyone convicted of assault, theft, shoplifting, drink driving etc unless the conviction is at least 10 years old or you can prove that you've been rehabilitated into society. This was the problem for Barrow last year.

Wish our country did same.Spanishtiger wrote:Yes they refuse entry to anyone convicted of assault, theft, shoplifting, drink driving etc unless the conviction is at least 10 years old or you can prove that you've been rehabilitated into society. This was the problem for Barrow last year.

Careful. I said the same and joined in a conversation on twitter about it, I got shot down. That was from a poster who posts regular on here.yorky wrote:watched their game against kr last night & i thought the pitch was a disgrace with pitch markings for several different sports & people complain about our pitch, what a mess.
All them pastel colours did my head in and my eyes.

Agree with this, no attempt to cover the lines as happens over here, looks like a children’s playground - very poor!old cas lass wrote:Careful. yes i thought they would have made an attempt to cover the other lines
Re: Toronto / Visa
Agree about the pitch but the most annoying think for me was the PA guy you could hear in the background whenever Toronto scored. His Andreeeew Dixoooon and Gareeeeth OoooBriaaaaan made is sound like a wrestling pantomime. With that and the music every time there was a break in play you could be forgiven for thinking you'd tuned in to a circus.
Re: Toronto / Visa
Not just that. At one point when Hull KR had ball in hand he started singing "wolf pack... Wolf pack... Wolf pack..." that was annoying.Tiger53 wrote:Agree about the pitch but the most annoying think for me was the PA guy you could hear in the background whenever Toronto scored. Still not as bad as Sky commentators calling Gareth O Brien Adam O Brien and nobody correcting them. Idiots.

That and the pa announcements for next games tickets. It was absolutely ridiculous

Eddie's favourite one for us is James Webster (Jake Webster). At Wigan game it was Kieran Gill when it was actually James Clare. ](*,)Swagger wrote:Not just that. I actually like the music in breaks in play, I watch a lot of ice hockey and have always thought it boosts the atmosphere and gets the crowd going.Tiger53 wrote:Agree about the pitch but the most annoying think for me was the PA guy you could hear in the background whenever Toronto scored. With everything else it was kind of annoying but I suppose it's the type of stuff that they're audiences are use to.

It's the way with American sports. All hype. I once went to a NFL game in Nashville. The fans from Kansas were around the city all day, really good natured and a party atmosphere. The game itself was a fantastic experience.
