Fages
League Express linking us with Fages for next season. Also in talks with Minikin over a new deal.
In the spirit of the final Blackadder episode - Goooodbyeee!
Re: Fages
I'd be surprised if we get fages he's playing out of his skin sure saints will offer him a good deal to stay and I read last week few nrl clubs were keen on him too

In talks with Minikin ??? Hope it's a new contract behind the bar and not on the field. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt b4 the season started when people were knocking him. However now he's played 7 games he's not good enough or big enough for Super league.HuddsTigers wrote:League Express linking us with Fages for next season. Also in talks with Minikin over a new deal.

Numerous try saving tackles already and doing a lot of making up for the dross he's had to put up with around him this season. The right side is a disaster but not because of Minikin.

Give your head a shake muppet. So you think he would walk into the Saints or Warrington team then?? If we do sign Gelling Minikin and Clare are fighting for that wing position. Blind or Clueless yes you really are ](*,)TheSheriff wrote:I assume you're blind or clueless then.westerbeast wrote:In talks with Minikin ??? Re: Fages
Can’t believe people are bagging Minkin, I think he’s been great this season, just needs a settled partner on that side, Clare has made minikin look bad, but he’s looking really strong this season, physically bigger in my opinion and he takes the ball in very strongly, sometime taking 4 to put him down, his speed is good and his defence is not bad at all, be Better on that side when McMeeken is back!!

Re: Fages
Minikin as imo been playing out of position.
He’s no where near a Center.
Get him on the wing were he looks more comfortable, get him a strong out and out center next to him, get Mcmeeken back , the right side would look much stronger.
Let’s hope we bring someone in soon rather than later.

Re: Fages
He'd walk into most Super League team bar Sts n Warrington so yes id say he is good enough for Super League. If we sign Gelling we'll see a big improvement from Minikin playing with an actual centre not leaving him exposed so often.westerbeast wrote:Give your head a shake muppet. Re: Fages
Can't believe we are already in talks with Minikin , he still as to prove himself this season. Looks a shadow of the player he was back in 2017 and as done nothing since his injuries of last year.
At present I would be looking elsewhere to spend our money on a decent winger rather than wastin it on Greg.
Nobody ever wants to let anyone go but if we want to keep improving we have to make changes to the squad and start getting better value for our money.

He is only 23, cant believe people are on his back. When foster played centre against Salford he missed tackles which led to Salford scoringSharlotiger wrote:Can't believe we are already in talks with Minikin , he still as to prove himself this season. Re: Fages
Whilst that was poor from foster, he can be forgiven slightly as was in an unfamiliar positiondude wrote:He is only 23, cant believe people are on his back. Minikin started as a centre, has plenty of experience there and on the wing too and like said above hasn't lived up to his earlier cas form

Re: Fages
But that season he had hardacre at fullback who is the best defensive fullback and organiser in the league and had Webster as his centre who had tonnes of experience and was a strong defender, we also scored a lot of trys so had a lot of the ball so didn't need to defend as much and he was playing on the wing which is a completely different position. Playing centre growing up and in lower league isn't going to be as difficult as playing it in superleague.the machine wrote:Whilst that was poor from foster, he can be forgiven slightly as was in an unfamiliar positiondude wrote:He is only 23, cant believe people are on his back. Exactly Dude i honestly think if we get Gelling playing inside Minikin he will look a different player from what we're watching this season.

Re: Fages
2017.
Minikin is a winger. He looks very uncomfortable at center.
IF gelling as signed then I can see him getting back to his best and scoring tries like he did in 2017. Here’s hoping.

Re: Fages
Minikin is simply too small in my opinion to be a centre. Put him back on the wing with a decent centre inside him and he will do a good job.
Re: Fages
Out of interest, what’s the size of Oliver Gildart? Doesn’t look too different to Minikin in stature but would love him in our side.westerbeast wrote:Minikin is simply too small in my opinion to be a centre. Put him back on the wing with a decent centre inside him and he will do a good job.
