A few rumours going round a deal with Wardle for him could be in the pipeline. Peanut to centre rankin to fullback maybe...

How did everyone feel when we first signed snake, mcmeekin, foster et el it’s only a rumour, but, if it happens we get rid of wardle, a plus, and get a utility back on a lot less money. Give him the dp treatment he may come good.

Agree Bane. Same with QLT last season - I can't remember an outcry when we signed him and he hardly played. Rankin could do a good job with us. His utility value makes it worth a go. A one year deal for me. Hudds get their man and we have nothing to lose.

Agreed. Not saying dont sign him. I was mearly pointing out shenton and minikin will start at centre baring any injuries

For me he's always a fast lively player something we probs don't have and covers nearly all the back line I'd be happy to see him in a case shirt.

Good discripition that lively player I presume it will be a swop with Wardle so he wouldn't even need to be all that lively to be a upgrade...

Was told the rumour on Monday but told it was very hush hush but not sure why. Straight swap with Wardle was the intention apparently.
I would take it to be honest. Good coverage in positions we may be weak in. Versatile. Better than Aston and Ellis. Possibly cheaper on wage bill than Wardle and not currently injured so for me I like it.
Only way I don't is if we can get top drawer 7 with salary cap dispensation but that is very unlikely.

Probably get moved to the rumour section but I hope this is true. We are short in the backs and Rankin is a decent player. Can cover many positions at a good standard.

Think he will be useful. Rankin played well against us at home last season, good support player if my memory serves me well.
