Re: Konrad Hurrell
The salary cap is not something like a fantasy football game where you spend all your money then realize your a centre and a winger short if all the cap as gone and were still short well at least a centre somebody's c..... up
If we don’t bring someone in then this is deffo true !!

Re: Konrad Hurrell
They are being heavily linked to Martin Tapau too,if they get him in too they might be a serious contender next year.

Re: Konrad Hurrell
funny how it was only a couple of weeks ago that we were hearing that leeds had nowhere to go in terms of bringing in new players because they were at there limit on the salary cap and were stuck with the players they have.

Re: Konrad Hurrell
According to journalists on social media, an even bigger name is on the cards.
Re: Konrad Hurrell
That was before they started leaving in droves. I think the sport needs a competitive Leeds much as it hurts me to say it. I enjoy them getting beat as much as anybody but even that was getting tedious.Tigerwood posse wrote:funny how it was only a couple of weeks ago that we were hearing that leeds had nowhere to go in terms of bringing in new players because they were at there limit on the salary cap and were stuck with the players they have.

Re: Konrad Hurrell
They usually bounce back after a poor season, we know that better than anyone else.

So when is our recruitment going to start or have we wasted it allold cas lass wrote:Leeds have announced it.
Re: Konrad Hurrell
We won’t sign anybody up... need to get rid of players to do it and if I was on a contract which was paying me a good wage I wouldn’t want to leave either.fords wrote:So when is our recruitment going to start or have we wasted it allold cas lass wrote:Leeds have announced it.

Re: Konrad Hurrell
Me neither. Cas fault for giving deals longer then they should, and paying inflated wages to average playerstallguyx wrote:We won’t sign anybody up... need to get rid of players to do it and if I was on a contract which was paying me a good wage I wouldn’t want to leave either.fords wrote:So when is our recruitment going to start or have we wasted it allold cas lass wrote:Leeds have announced it.

Re: Konrad Hurrell
The hypocrisy of some fans on here is quite amusing. Can guarantee that if Cas hadn’t retained the players they have, fans on here would be up in arms and crying that the club is letting all our best players go. Give yourselves a shake!
Leeds have lost Hall and Moon and needed to replace them. They still have for the most part an average side.

Spot on.... if we sign players on 12 month deals and leave some fans would be up in arms. Who says we are paying inflated wages... do they have access to their wages slips. Yes there are a number of players who would be deemed as average, but we can't have 25+ players all on £100k. Its a balance and it's only because of the injuries we have had, that some of these players have got game time. Spin it on it's head....would Trueman have got the game time he has had and could have left like a couple of other U19 players because there is no opportunity to get 1st team time. The key is a reserve league like it used to be - used to love watch the "A team", especially when one of the first team squad was coming back from injury, plus it puts pressure on players places in the squad and allows them to playHuddsTigers wrote:The hypocrisy of some fans on here is quite amusing. Re: Konrad Hurrell
True but Saints / Wolves and Catalan have kept a lot of there talent bar 1 or 2 who won’t have been massive earners and added better to there squad we’re spending far too much on squad players for sure

Like as been said, we’ll have to off loads before we can bring anyone in.

Re: Konrad Hurrell
To Be fair, Hurrell was released by New Zealand Warriors because he wasn't playing well for a while, rumour as it that he wasn't going to be playing NRL for the TITANS at all next year anyway after being dropped for a young rookie most of 2018, he would have been plying his trade in the queensland cup competition, his name is bigger than his performances these days, much bigger.
Re: Konrad Hurrell
Seen a lot of fans saying his fitness is not up to scratch and that these day's he doesn't play many games due to struggling with it.

As I posted on another thread:Tigerman2014 wrote:True but Saints / Wolves and Catalan have kept a lot of there talent bar 1 or 2 who won’t have been massive earners and added better to there squad we’re spending far too much on squad players for sure
Warrington have lost Roberts and released 7 others.
Saints have lost Wilkin, Barba, Smith and rumoured to be offering out Amor.
These things are cyclical. All the players that got us to the Grand Final are now wanted men as well as themselves knowing their value has increased. Cas have retained the bulk of their squad. It is only ever a case of refinements. We have some big earners coming off contract at the end of 2019 which should allow us space to recruit again.
You say we are spending more on squad players. Well I think we have one of the best top 25 man squads in Super League. Most teams you reference have 17/18 and then they are into kids.

Re: Konrad Hurrell
Shenton, Roberts, Cook, Minikin, Springer. That should free up some cap space.
