Re: Bill Tupou
the thing is with such as tupou and johnstone they will be happy to pledge their future if the money is ok and wakey end each season a little higher every year and they see a glimpse of silverware and maybe international recognition. if they dip lower than 5th next year the players who are looking for success will be looking elsewhere. worse still if TJ gets called up next year his head will be turned and he'll be away but a good fee will go to wakey.

Re: Bill Tupou
I said this ages ago on a different thread that when retaining players especially your better ones then obviously they or more appropriately their agents are only going to get them to sign on a much better contract and this is where Carter will struggle to retain their best players when he is running a tight ship and the gates don’t allow it. Looks like they will achieve another good finish this year yet (and Jinjer may be able to accurately answer this) I don’t think their gates have increased that much.
I still think the Tupou thing is just mischief causing though !

Re: Bill Tupou
If your not getting the crowds you need or deserve id say in wakeys case your going to start to lose your best players unless you've got a chap like him at Huddersfield who just carry on regardless funding his team

Ha ha, and sleep.....In reply to some posts, yes our crowds haven't risen by that much if at all, but MC does run a tight ship and from what I've heard regarding Hampsh the contract is quite low in my opinion and for a three year contract no increase year on year, if that is the level of contract then we'll be miles away from all the other teams on our outlay.tigerfeat wrote:Yeah mate heard we put a bid in for Johnstone too Aston Springer and Ellis to go your wayJIN JER wrote:You still trying to convince yourself the Tupou deal is on tigerfeat?tigerfeat wrote:If your not getting the crowds you need or deserve id say in wakeys case your going to start to lose your best players unless you've got a chap like him at Huddersfield who just carry on regardless funding his team

Re: Bill Tupou
I wonder if the question of, whilst Tupou may be happy & under contract, is his value to the team greater or lesser than that of a quality 6 or 7? I.e Hampshire or this Aussie half supposedly in talks.JIN JER wrote:Ha ha, and sleep.....In reply to some posts, yes our crowds haven't risen by that much if at all, but MC does run a tight ship and from what I've heard regarding Hampsh the contract is quite low in my opinion and for a three year contract no increase year on year, if that is the level of contract then we'll be miles away from all the other teams on our outlay.tigerfeat wrote:Yeah mate heard we put a bid in for Johnstone too Aston Springer and Ellis to go your wayJIN JER wrote:You still trying to convince yourself the Tupou deal is on tigerfeat?tigerfeat wrote:If your not getting the crowds you need or deserve id say in wakeys case your going to start to lose your best players unless you've got a chap like him at Huddersfield who just carry on regardless funding his team
Personally I think a quality half is harder to find, pay & keep than a quality centre, particularly at Wakey presently. Joe Arundel would be a shoe in at a lot of other clubs & wouldn’t weaken wakey in the same sense that not having a quality half would.
That said I don’t think it’ll come off!

A rumour is not the same as 100% signed!!!andymc133 wrote:Thought this was for rumours this section of the board
Re: Bill Tupou
A rumour is what someone has heard that he/she believes that may, or may not turn out to be true, therefore this is exactly the right place for it to be posted.classysupercas3 wrote:A rumour is not the same as 100% signed!!!andymc133 wrote:Thought this was for rumours this section of the board
God knows we have had a lot of red herrings posted on here in the past!

Why have a rumour section if no one should post rumours...old cas lass wrote:classysupercas3 wrote:People shouldn't post unless absolutely sure it's signed sealed and deliveredold cas lass wrote:There you go mucky.
