No way are we signing both Mead and Mamo. It's gonna be Mamo. Catalans will wanna keep Mead.

They will want to but having that many fullbacks can't be healthy. They need specialists in each position. I've not been impressed with either mead or mamo in the centres or tierney/gigot on the wings.

We should go and sign Gigot - he would fit into our style of play far more than any other of the fullbacks mentioned.

But they won't play full-back. At this moment they don't have to get rid of anyone:

1. Mead/Gigot
3. Gigot/Mead
6. Tomkins/Gigot

Tomkins and Gigot can both play 1 and 6 (Mead at push)
Mead and Gigot can both play centre.

The problem is that they all want to play fullback and it's their best position. The ones not picked aren't normally the best options in the other positions Mead , Gigot and Mamo aren't very good centres. Tompkins is good at 6 though.

Of course they don't have to get rid of anyone, it's their prerogative to have cover in all positions and we'd like the same.

I'm sure we'll approach the right man for the job and have a few options, in and out of contract, fed or non fed.

Mead is an excellent player. He’s been playing in the worst-coached team in the league and completely out of position in the centre. I’d be happy with him at full back.
Peter Mata’utia is very good. I know he signed for Leigh before their relegation, but I’m surprised he’s happy playing at Championship level.
I think we all got a little carried away watching PNG in the world cup.
they just haven't backed that form up when coming to super league.

I didn’t really see PNG play in the World Cup, but I saw Mead playing for Gold Coast and was very impressed.

Anyone actually thought of the cost of bringing mead in? He didn't leave the nrl for a couple of quid and the love of a poor climate also he's now 30+ hasn't nailed the full back slot for a while now blows hot and cold like benny imo money better placed elsewhere in all honesty I'd like to see how qlt goes if he goes well I'd be tempted for another year and give Turner a two year pro deal that will give him time to develope. However I have a feeling we may have missed the boat on Turner and he may be a player that comes back to bite us in the rear in years to come.

Are you saying Turner is wanting to leave or has a deal elsewhere?

Not a clue but he is one player out of the 19s that had looks like he could be something special and had for the last year or so and I for one can not understand why he hasn't got a pro contract yet unless he's already invested in things away from the game similar to ash Robson. The bottom line is with some hard work and a good team of players and coaches around him I could see him been a top class one his attacking play is effortless as so far mainly in the u19s but he picks the passes with ease and creates gaps for fun and we've all seen a small glimpse of what he can do at 1st team level.

Our offer to Williame is now off the table. Tigers have waited for his decision but nothing has happened and we will now look elsewhere.
