All the physical attributes to be a real monster. And probably lost confidence through injuries
If he upped his fitness and got back to where he could be we'd arguably have the 4 biggest forwards as a set in the league
Wattsy Millo Moors Springer
In fairness he's got 3 high quality mentors all with different styles that make it "perfect" book end.
If he can't learn and improve from those then time to find a different vocation in life.

They were the first 4 that came to mind Jinj. Is Huby bigger than the others ?JIN JER wrote:Wouldn't you class Huby amongst those?takethetwo wrote:Think we might be second on the size front.ERG2012 wrote:All the physical attributes to be a real monster. And probably lost confidence through injuries

Toronto want Springer but it sounds like it's a no go.

Re: Gadwin Springer
Before now I’ve always said he needs more time. Props rarely peak until their late twenties so he’s young for a prop.
However, he seems to have regressed rather than progressed.
His ball retention is poor both in contact and when he is regaining his feet to play the ball, meaning he makes frequent errors when we are in possession. He also concedes too many silly penalties for messing around with the tackled player. If I remember, in one of his most recent appearances towards the end of 2017 he came off the bench, knocked on twice, gave away two penalties and was withdrawn.
It’s also worth remembering that we gave him a new contract towards the end of 2016 season when he was in good form and looked set to establish himself as one of the best impact players in the league. As such, he’ll be taking up more of the salary cap than he is now worth.
The fact that Powell selects Alex Foster (who I rate as a back-rower) ahead of Springer in the front row suggests he’s fallen down the pecking order so far that it’s hard to see him getting a game and therefore being good value for money.

Re: Gadwin Springer
He was injured and as been out on loan to get fit. Hope he plays on Friday to see if he is worth keeping. With the addition of Watts he won't get a game unless he performs well on a weekly basis.

he's been injured since late last year... only played a game for Halifax. he has mistakes in him, but when he gets going he certainly gets the crowd. One try many will remember was his at Headingley!

Not sure how big Huby is but he is a million times better than Hirst. He is dire.JIN JER wrote:Not sure takethetwo but he's a fair old unit.takethetwo wrote:They were the first 4 that came to mind Jinj. Re: Gadwin Springer
I don't think Hirst is dire, he's no Fifita but he's a good squad man who adds a different dimension when he comes on. He's big and gangly and takes some putting down, that's good in a prop forward.
Re: Gadwin Springer
We also have Cook who is big too.
