If true it's scandalous
I thought if a player was banned he couldn’t have anything to do with any rugby club until his ban was finished.
If thats true im even more confused as i heard cas had offered a deal more than that but wigan had offered alot more.
He had a contract 4.5 yr one so we didnt have to offer him anything. Whether we had to pay him his reorted 100k a year whilst he is banned is another question.
From what i heard this was the case as he would have remained employed by us so our only option was to sack him to clear us having to pay 200k plus over the next two years for some one we wouldnt see. Really tough position to decide the way you go as a club if the player doesnt want to lower his wage to what u deem acceptable i guess we end up in a bad position imo the RFL should really step in at points like this and if a player is sacked and his contract outlasts the ban then any club wishing to sign this player should have to agree a registration release fee to the club he was registered at when it occurred and if the clubs cant agree then the player should be left with out a club imo like todd carney was when the NRL wouldnt let a club register him if im correct in that?
Dont blame them for 1 min then. Cant afford to waste 200K
If Cas then helped him get a job for the next 2 years and he had any amount of remorse and decency he would accept that and pay the club back be re-signing with us for X years to pay back everybody he let down big time last year, assuming they want him back that is.
This may well happen for all we know.
It may not and he might sign elsewhere, if so don't expect a nice reception when your next down lane ...

If you sack a guy with the intention of re signing him on a lesser deal and also find him a job with a sponsor because of a expected two year ban looming and in the meantime he signs for another club who offer him more money ...
is it a ( REMOVED ) trick or something anyone would do

No you would resign him when his ban is up. Due to his stupidity he will have to earn alot less for 2yrs cleaning cars or whatever.
Nobody in the right mind would pay 100k+ a year for a bloke who cant play just to keep his registration. If they do.more fool them.

If that's correct he's never gonna learn, maybe he needs to get out of the area, a new start and all that, maybe try staying at home on a weekend night?

It's true. He was arguing with somebody and offering people out by the sounds.

Really? He is a fully grown man and capable of making his own decisions not to take drugs in the lead up to games, or go out in town and get into scraps. Surely?
