Andre savelio
Looks like he's leaving Warrington end of season.
4 clubs in for him.
Saints, who are favourites, offering him a 3yr deal.
Leigh, Leeds and us.
I wonder who he will chose.

Re: Andre savelio
Would be happy if we signed him. Was really good for us on loan and looks good for Warrington in the small amount of games I've seen. Not sure he would be a priority signing though

I'd argue he is if the rumours about oggy continue.PSTiger wrote:Would be happy if we signed him. Was really good for us on loan and looks good for Warrington in the small amount of games I've seen. Not sure he would be a priority signing though
Re: Andre savelio
Would of loved us to keep him last year but with having foster Jesse Meeks oggy and junior imo I don't see that his wage would really be better spent else where I think first and foremost we need to get a big prop sorted.
Re: Andre savelio
Didn't he go to Warrington cause he wanted to be that side of the Penines ?

That 'news' site has to be one of the worst ones around. Just pick up rubbish from Twitter and forums with no real 'info'
That aside.... Would be good to have him back in the team, although not at the sacrifice of a good prop

Re: Andre savelio
Savelio is better than two of the five you mentioned. I'd have him back, especially if Holmes is struggling to get back fit.betts21 wrote:Would of loved us to keep him last year but with having foster Jesse Meeks oggy and junior imo I don't see that his wage would really be better spent else where I think first and foremost we need to get a big prop sorted.

Re: Andre savelio
I can't make up my mind about Savelio.
He looked good when he broke into the team at Saints. He looked good during his short spell on loan with us. He looked good in his few few games for Warrington.
The trouble is, he hasn't looked consistently good. He's done well over a short space of time but never established himself. Saints were happy to let him go for nothing a year before his contract expired. Warrington were only willing to give him a one-year deal and he hasn't played regularly there, despite the fact they have been light in the forwards.
There were rumours of attitude problems at Saints and there are similar rumours at Warrington.
He seems to be a young player with potential, but one who thinks he is better than he actually is. He still has lots to work on, particularly in defence. However, he' runs good lines, has good footwork and good hands. His attacking attributes suit our game.
I'd take him, but not on massive money.

Re: Andre savelio
I personally don't think he's better than the five mentioned and non of our players have the problems he's been associated with after being dropped at wire. He has potential but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't come here to be 4th or 5th choice. Depending on oggs injury of course. He would however give excellent depth to the squad.Fumper27 wrote:Savelio is better than two of the five you mentioned. Re: Andre savelio
Would he make a better recruit than Larroyer though?
The way I see it:
Monaghan -> Wardle
Larroyer -> Savelio
Lynch -> ???
Chase -> Money into improving contracts for players like McMeeken.

Re: Andre savelio
I know this : Wardle can easily play in the 2nd 2 too (lol) so we may be killing two stones there.
I think the priority HAS to be a couple of BIG durable units. I'd like a winger too.
I'm thinking four signings, but highly doubt we'll see more than 3 at the most.
Wardle,
Prop
Prop
(Outside back)
I expect to see Jake Trueman several times next year too.

Re: Andre savelio
Bringing in Savelio would allow JSL to move up to prop regularly, the position we originally brought him into play which would just leave us with Lynch to replace at prop.
Re: Andre savelio
As mysterio posted Wardle and two big props would be my choice as well forget about Savelio could use Webster and Wardle to alternate between centre and 2nd row back up and maybe if we could add a winger would be a bonus the young lad Ince at Widnes woud be ideal that would strenthen in the middle and out wide on the edges

Re: Andre savelio
That pretty much confirms he's signed for Cas from next season. It's like the old "we back our manager" from the chairman in Football....getting fired pretty much always follows that statement. Wardle will be at Cas next season.

I'd not seen that. Heard it's a done deal. That suggests otherwise.HuddsTigers wrote:Wardle rumours dismissed: http://www.theherald.com.au/story/47467 ... le-rumour/
