Any spare money should be put aside to be able to pay the deposit on the finance that we're going to need to upgrade WR if the new ground doesn't come through.
If it does come through, and we're in the joyous position of owning 2 RL stadia, then we can go splashing the cash on marquee signings.
Anyone who thinks I'm talking crepe, nip up Ponte and ask a Mr Paul Newlove how mucj he got paid to play 8 games for us. And if it happened to coincide with our club being relegated for the first time in our history.

The 2million plus is loaned to the club against the ground so when they sell it off the fultons will get there money back then.

Exactly this, funny how people like to shoot down everything you say with false information! For what it’s worth whilst I agree we need to pack on the smaller club view we don’t have the resources to spend £300k+ minimum on marquee players which will set us apart from the “bigger” clubs.... this is where we remain slightly out of step, not necessarily going to hold us back though as marquee players don’t guarantee success.HuddsTigers wrote:We aren’t selling it off - we want to turn it into a state of the art training facility.fords wrote:Spanishtiger wrote:With you all the way Hudds, some people on here seem to think that the club are cash rich because they made a good profit last season. Re: Konrad Hurrell
I think they will sell off half but they have to retain the ground for Women’s/Reserves/U19s games as well as first team training. But it would be good for the club to share their master plan with the fans. May give us something else to get excited about.fords wrote:If a housing company comes along they won't turn it downHuddsTigers wrote:We aren’t selling it off - we want to turn it into a state of the art training facility.fords wrote:Spanishtiger wrote:With you all the way Hudds, some people on here seem to think that the club are cash rich because they made a good profit last season. Re: Konrad Hurrell
I don’t feel that we should splash cash we don’t have or sign players just for the sake but I do feel our time is now,we have just recorded a profit and finished top 4 twice on the trot and won LLS and have a great squad together,we don’t need an overhaul but we do need someone who can take us to the next level that we just fall short of on the big occasion.Spanishtiger wrote:With you all the way Hudds, some people on here seem to think that the club are cash rich because they made a good profit last season. I was around in the early 90’s and 99 when we were in a very similar position and we didn’t kick on or chance our arm and we very quickly went into decline and got relegated.I don’t want to see us in money trouble again but if we could speculate to accumulate and get a shrewd investment that helps us win the Challenge Cup it Grand Final it will be well worth the investment.
Either way it’s a great time to be a Tiger but if we can’t attract top players now with our coach, brand of rugby and success we never will

Re: Konrad Hurrell
Craig Greenhill or as he was affectionately know 'knuckles', truly one of our worst signings in my 30 years of watching the Tigers.
Absolutely useless on the pitch, how he got his nick name I'll never know as my Gran had more fight in her at 83 than he did.
And were not happy these days that we've only signed Liam Watts and Peter M, oh how the times have changed

I agree other than one pass he made to set up a try to help us to a one point win over Widnes (I think), which kept our hopes of staying up alive for one more week.westyorkylad wrote:Craig Greenhill or as he was affectionately know 'knuckles', truly one of our worst signings in my 30 years of watching the Tigers.

Hadn’t he been named player of the season at Hull the previous year though?

He was a pussy cat. More interested in socialising with folks who bowed in awe of his nickname. That’s it!
