According to journalists on social media, an even bigger name is on the cards.

That was before they started leaving in droves. I think the sport needs a competitive Leeds much as it hurts me to say it. I enjoy them getting beat as much as anybody but even that was getting tedious.

They usually bounce back after a poor season, we know that better than anyone else.

We won’t sign anybody up... need to get rid of players to do it and if I was on a contract which was paying me a good wage I wouldn’t want to leave either.

Me neither. Cas fault for giving deals longer then they should, and paying inflated wages to average players

The hypocrisy of some fans on here is quite amusing. Can guarantee that if Cas hadn’t retained the players they have, fans on here would be up in arms and crying that the club is letting all our best players go. Give yourselves a shake!

Leeds have lost Hall and Moon and needed to replace them. They still have for the most part an average side.

Spot on.... if we sign players on 12 month deals and leave some fans would be up in arms. Who says we are paying inflated wages... do they have access to their wages slips. Yes there are a number of players who would be deemed as average, but we can't have 25+ players all on £100k. Its a balance and it's only because of the injuries we have had, that some of these players have got game time. Spin it on it's head....would Trueman have got the game time he has had and could have left like a couple of other U19 players because there is no opportunity to get 1st team time. The key is a reserve league like it used to be - used to love watch the "A team", especially when one of the first team squad was coming back from injury, plus it puts pressure on players places in the squad and allows them to play

True but Saints / Wolves and Catalan have kept a lot of there talent bar 1 or 2 who won’t have been massive earners and added better to there squad we’re spending far too much on squad players for sure

Not holding my breath fords.
Like as been said, we’ll have to off loads before we can bring anyone in.

To Be fair, Hurrell was released by New Zealand Warriors because he wasn't playing well for a while, rumour as it that he wasn't going to be playing NRL for the TITANS at all next year anyway after being dropped for a young rookie most of 2018, he would have been plying his trade in the queensland cup competition, his name is bigger than his performances these days, much bigger.

Seen a lot of fans saying his fitness is not up to scratch and that these day's he doesn't play many games due to struggling with it.

As I posted on another thread:

Warrington have lost Roberts and released 7 others.
Saints have lost Wilkin, Barba, Smith and rumoured to be offering out Amor.

These things are cyclical. All the players that got us to the Grand Final are now wanted men as well as themselves knowing their value has increased. Cas have retained the bulk of their squad. It is only ever a case of refinements. We have some big earners coming off contract at the end of 2019 which should allow us space to recruit again.

You say we are spending more on squad players. Well I think we have one of the best top 25 man squads in Super League. Most teams you reference have 17/18 and then they are into kids.

Shenton, Roberts, Cook, Minikin, Springer. That should free up some cap space.

Catalan have apparently lost there best player in Drinkwater and replaced him with Matty Smith, that's terrible business lol

I’d keep cook and minikin.
Shenton Roberts and springer can go for me.

No but of the 5 the only one likely to command a higher salary is Minikin, if he performs well.

Shenton and Cook are now into their 30s and it could be their last contracts. But I reckon both will be offered less than what they are on now. Reckon Roberts will go. Springer has one season to save himself if we don’t offload him before. Either way, I reckon we could free up around £200k from these alone.
