Re: Niall Evalds
Like the way Wells put that muppet Clarke in his place too. He argued against both heritage and expansion clubs being in Super League so Jon asked exactly who he did want in.
Didn’t really get to the bottom of that in his reply!

I loved the way Clarke said "back when I left my job within the great Britain squad" then Brian Carney jumped in and said "sacked" haha.Danny Boy wrote:Though he made mincemeat of Clarke!

I thought I'd address the latest rumours surrounding Evalds. I think he'd do very well if he did come to Cas. https://uk.blastingnews.com/sport/2018/ ... 43451.html

Re: Niall Evalds
Would be a perfect signing, but how realistic is it him coming though. Are people just saying he would fit our role as a fullback or is he actually signing for us?

Nothing in it as of now.
Who knows in the near future.
Who’d have thought watts would have signed a few weeks back.
Things can change pretty quickly.

Re: Niall Evalds
The story doing the rounds is that Salford should have entered administration in December. The RFL propped them up and are now demanding that they trim 400k from their wage bill. Hence the sale of O'Brien and two or three more to come. Any transfer fees go direct to the RFL to compensate for the investment that they have made. The alternative would have been enter administration, all players become free agents when nobody has much space left in the cap. Also as Salford owe millions and have no tangible assets other than the playing staff it was deemed the only viable solution. Not sure of the exact numbers but I'd get a couple of quid on the Devils not being in SL next year.

Re: Niall Evalds
Salford interested in taking Matty Russell from Warrington. Would mean Evalds either on his way or going back on the wing.

Possibly, although they have 2 pretty decent wingers in Bibby and Johnson at the minute.Spanishtiger wrote:Or Russell going on the wing with Evalds at FB.

Re: Niall Evalds
watched the game tonight and I thought evalds was outstanding, and hardly put a foot wrong. seems much stronger physically now than 2 years ago and very aware of the players around him in attack.

Re: Niall Evalds
I might be in the minority with this one but I don't think Evalds is the answer. Although both him and O'brien are of similar builds, O'brien seems much physically stronger and more suited to a top four side. It's a pity we didn't manage to sign him.
There's a reason why O'brien was full back and Evalds was on the wing at Saldord.
