Re: Who do you want to go down?
I suppose we have to think how we will be stronger whichever team goes down.
Wakey - we become the only super league team in the area, maybe get a few extra rugby fans (maybe not their fans but the floaters)
They've got players we would want (Johnstone) but would he come? We'd miss our biggest gate of the season. We get the crap area to stand at their ground.
Hudds - bring little in fans, they charge more than us on the gate. They have a number of good young players and magillvary.
KR - they bring good numbers to us, maybe a couple of players I'd want (mulhearn for one) but won't miss going to their ground.
London - no crowd brought to us and the odd player I'd like (walker etc but they may already have new clubs). The away day at London is the best of the year in good weather. We were lucky this year, still I'd go every year as it was a fun day.
Head says London, didn't think they get 6 points.
But I think hudds would be best for us. They have such a lot of young talent that would fit us. Certainly magillvary, the senior brothers, the fullback darnell would thrive under DPs tactics.

If Wakey do go down, then we need to be looking at Johnstone/Fifita/Tanginoa/Tupou - obviously not all 4, but at least 1 one of them.

Whoever goes down, in reality their squad players will end up elsewhere, even those under contract would obviously be able to be tempted.
Personally I don't have much fondness for Huddersfield, but non-emotionally speaking the league table never lies there have been four teams significantly worse than any others this season, as well as one significantly better week in week out.
Most likely if not London, Hull KR.

Simple, Huddersfield. Their own town doesn't even care for Rugby League, so why should we bother about them. It's a soulless ground with no atmosphere. Their fans always think they are hard done by and that tin pot they bang does my head in!! The only decent thing about going there is that the lasses behind the bar in the gas club remember what me and my dad drink!

nobody, bring super league up to 14 teams & stop this boring loop fixtures, sick of the sights of some teams when you play the 3 times then draw them in a cup round then again in a play off, dreadful & boring.

I agree with this. I’d also then have no relegation for a couple of seasons to give the promoted teams half a chance of building something. Even if London go down what they have achieved on limited resources is phenomenal. It would be a real shame if they didn’t stay up in my opinion.yorky wrote:nobody, bring super league up to 14 teams & stop this boring loop fixtures, sick of the sights of some teams when you play the 3 times then draw them in a cup round then again in a play off, dreadful & boring.

Is it the PC brigade or is it stopping to think that, as a family club, there are probably children who view this forum?derbystiger wrote:Flat Capper wrote:Our lass...

We now know a new team will be playing SL rugby next season. Would love one of York or Toulouse, would both be a class away day.
