Seven into five....

Looking very tight now and the HKR defeat could have cost us dear. It's hard to read our run in without frowning a little but some juicy games coming up for teams 2nd to 7th places......

Losing to Hull KR killed our top 5 bid in my opinion.

I think we're getting, at most, 4 points from our last 4 games. I think Wigan and Saints away are certain defeats.

I reckon Winner of Wigan v Wire to finish 2nd, loser to finish 4th behind Hull. I think Hull FC to win 3 or 4 of their remaining 5, possibly including beating Cas, to finish 3rd.

Final spot for Salford. Assuming some consistency from them.

I'm pretty drunk though, so who knows.

I think top 4 are staying top 4 and 5th spot is between the rest of us.

Salford and Catalan have the easier run ins for me so we somehow need to find a minimum 3 wins from 4 due to Salford's better PD.

Can see Catalan winning 2 or 3 from 4
Can see Salford winning 3 or 4 from 5
Which means we need minimum 3 wins. Hoping St Helens will put out a weak squad after CC final and league leaders already won.

Thanks for this Suffolk. I think that the negative PD of Hull and Catalans could work in our favour to make the 5. I don’t think we can win the whole thing but want to finish as high as possible for the prize money alone

Not looking great for us with that run in.

Could see Wigan taking second. Backed them at 8/1 the otger week to win SL.

Despite all the adversity we’ve faced this year, a tiny bit more composure and game management in Leeds, Huddersfield HKR Salford and Wigan away games gets us currently in second place. It is what it is, very small margins, but not quite as gloomy as some would have it.

This season is bonkers so even the best of predictors aren’t sure on what will happen. Salford could quite easily go 0/5 or 5/5.

Saints/Wire Cup Final will play a part again.

Think it’s simple for us - win 4/4 and forget what everyone else does. Ball is in our court - win all our games, we have done our part.

IMO it’s not 5 into 7 at all we are in a 1 into 3 for 5th spot with Salford and Catalans. We are outsider of 3 again imo with Salford strong favourites to take it, but I was always told back the outsider in a 3 runner race.

As frustrating has the season has been we still hold our own destiny even if it’s by the thinnest of threads.

Bookies generally agreeing on the "3 into 1" scenario,in a three horse race Salford slightly have the market edge over us and then the Dragons, a win for Salford today obviously see their price contract significantly while an unexpected win for the Wildcats today would chuck the cat right among the pigeons. Certainly adding a bit of spice to the run in. From an outright point of view Wigan still attracting some support for the GF at around 7/1 (8"s if you shop around) but that's as much due to zWarringtons recent form and people looking for value.

Agree with that but can't help but grasp at a few straws, Huddersfield away obviously crucial, Saints away the weekend after the cup final which always seems to have an affect, home to Hull who given their fixtures could have top four sewn up by the time we play them and similarly with Wigan, both of whom could rest players before the play offs. Yeah I know it's a long shot and too many "what ifs" just keeping the dream alive lol. Alternatively we get beat at Huddersfield and I've just wasted ten minutes of my life.

Salford ran in 22 points late second half points to convincingly beat Huddersfield.

Think Salford will pip us to 5th spot. No way will we beat Saints, Hull and Wigan in consecutive weeks.

Way we are playing it will all be over at Huddersfield next week, they have already out played us on the 2 other occasions we have met this year.
Then maybe last 3 games DP will allow shackles to come off and let the players express themselves and entertain the paying public for a change.

Think you're correct after today's results.

I was going to structure the opening post in that way but kept it fact based.

Looking at it again now, my opinion is we would need to produce our best form of the year in the last 4 games to make 5th spot. I can't see that happening - and I suspect the coaching staff have a similar view.

Todays results have likely put the kybosh on the play off hopes. I’d now like to see a nod to the future and some of the younger guys get a go.

Can only see us beating hudds out of them 4.
Very disappointing end to the season.

Disappointing season as a whole. Will also be the first time since Powell took over, where we will more than likely lose more games than we have won and finish with a negative points difference.

that's not only thing that's worrying I think my opinion first time powell being here the clubs probably run at lost this year with poor performances the crowds have dropped drastically compared to the year we made a profit be very surprised if made any profit in turn over this season .
