We should be looking for a strong finish to the season no reason as poor as we've been that we can't finish 4th play Catalan or Wigan at home first week of play-offs then your two games of Old Trafford and properly not have to face saints till final
We may have to bring a loan player in to partner Trueman or as Ronnie suggested swop Clark for Sammut do some kind of deal to strengthen one of are pivots ...get Gale back perhaps
I hope were thinking along those lines and not written the season off
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Something like that would be good. Not sure how feasible it is but I hope Cas lmare looking into something like this. Clark obviously being paid but not going to get a game if Cook and Smith are dropped, Moors is injured and yet Clarkson gets picked at prop. May as well try and get someone in who.can/will be given opportunity to contribute and have wage bill actually put to use.

I realise that Super League is in a different era to the late 1960s but when in sight of a Wembley Cup Final, strange results can occur. After Cas had beaten Wakefield to reach Wembley in 1969 they beat them again on Good Friday. However they then lost their next 3 matches, 2 of them at home to lowly opposition in Hull KR and Hunslet. Their only home League defeat prior to that had been against Leeds. After that they won their final League match, then in the top 16 playoffs beat Hull and Swinton at home and St.Helens away before beating Salford at Wembley.

In 1973 Dewsbury having lost 11 of their 34 League matches and finishing 8th in the League went on to beat 3rd placed Leeds 22-13 in the Final having disposed of Oldham at home, then followed that up by beating 2nd placed Featherstone 26-7 away and 1st placed Warrington 12-7 away. Stevo was their hooker and he never stopped reminding us that was his proudest moment.

Both of these examples show it’s not how you start a season, it’s how you finish as Leeds Rhinos would testify in 2017. Therefore there’s no reason why Cas can’t win their last 7 Super League matches, it’s all about confidence and momentum.
