Re: Salford Reds Friday
Wigan not spending the salary cap.????
And Wigan are where in the table.
Sorry about the profanities.
This season has however brought about some shock results.
The old order cannot take wins for granted.
In the same way clubs ca8tske support for granted.
Look at Rhino's in their shiny stadium.
The RFL should be concerned.
Back to the Salford game.
Do we remember how to play with a smile.
Go out with guts, pride and determination that all we want, a win is the bonus

Re: Salford Reds Friday
What ever changes we make its a loss.
Untill we get the halfbacks clicking putting moves together releasing blokes into gaps i see nothing for us.
Only way of winning is the same as the first half against Hull, play completion of sets hoof it down field and tackle like demons not giving away penalties,a hard feat if infringement machines Massey and Milner play.

Salford have pumped Wakey this afternoon and with London putting a score on Catalan Saturday, these next 2 games against them are no way gimmes.

Re: Salford Reds Friday
Wakey were missing a lot of players, though. Can only play what’s in front of you but made it easier for Salford
In the spirit of the final Blackadder episode - Goooodbyeee!
Re: Salford Reds Friday
We have had a two day break longer than Salford this should work in our favour, if we dont beat them we have no excuses and will make the London game the week after even more important

Re: Salford Reds Friday
What’s clear from watching Salford over the past couple of weeks is that they create most space by switching the ball one way from the ruck and then immediately to the other.
If the ball goes right to Lui, expect him to switch it back to Hastings who will be on the left of where the ball was played with Evalds running a line on the inside and the winger holding the touch line for the long-ball if anyone bites in. Similarly, if the ball goes left from the dummy-half, expect Hastings to switch it to the right to Lui, who will hit Evalds with a short ball if the defenders move outwards too much or the centre/winger with the long ball if the defence bites in too much.
Whatever happens, our defenders cannot relax and assume they won’t be involved defensively if the ball looks like it is looks like it is going away from them at the ruck.
It’s an old trick that I’ve not seen for a while, but it’s paying dividends for Salford at the moment and catching defences out. Thankfully, it’s quite an easy play to shut down by getting the first or second marker to close down the half back who will receive the switch pass.

I feel same.
Our rugby is boring and slow.
Maybe the backlash Daryl gave them after the game on Thursday might liven them up, who knows.
I know jesse said it was awesome, not sure what he means by awesome but the players apparently had some sort of meeting.
Let’s see if it’s worked come Friday.

Ellis and Clark are still here - use them. Powell said Ellis would be available in a week or so before Hull, Oli Holmes back week after.
Re: Salford Reds Friday
Well spotted notinghamtiger. It's time to start putting a few wins together now or we will soon be in an uncomfortable position. Wakefield will play out their skin at the weekend there might be a few P45s in dressing room after match. Funny when we loss our closest rivals lose as well .I think we've played our get out of jail for free cards now and now is the time to knuckle down and get some results. Before you know it we'll up a stream without a paddle. [-X

Well if we lose friday one of Hull or London will only be 4pts behind us.Piquad1 wrote:Well spotted notinghamtiger. Re: Salford Reds Friday
No I would too, the lad needs a break, looks so low on confidence and scared to try anything other than a last tackle kick.Tigersbarmy wrote:Is it just me that would drop trueman ?
Re: Salford Reds Friday
I agree think it’s time to rest trueman and give Aston another shot
Re: Salford Reds Friday
I beg to differ i would rest Rankin before Trueman at least Trueman as shown at times what a good player he can be , i keep watching Rankin hoping for him to impress but for me he as not done so as yet, this week we face two very good half backs and at least Trueman can tackle

Re: Salford Reds Friday
I'd drop him as per hudds forecast squad earlier,Ellis and Rankin in.Tigersbarmy wrote:Is it just me that would drop trueman ?
Re: Salford Reds Friday
If Ellis is fit id play him with Trueman, Ellis will do a lot more than Rankin does n will take the pressure off Trueman.
