Re: Monday's rugby papers
I would be delirious if we signed a new conditioning coach.
Reasons are
. We look like a tired team as shown by the lack of mid field breaks amongst other indicators.
. Does this look like a team who are peaking in Oct?
. We have never had as many off the field injuries
The effort is still there but we are short on skills and grunt.

Re: Monday's rugby papers
This is a very good point. I thought Ben Cooper did a very good job when he was at the club, the squad doesn't look half as fit now. We don't meet the attacking side in defence like we used to,just hold back waiting for them to make easy yards.tigertragic wrote:I would be delirious if we signed a new conditioning coach.

We don't back up the runs of our big forwards, especially the inroads made by Watts, plus we have a flat attacking line and for the most part our players aren't receiving the ball at pace.
To me this points to poor fitness.

Re: Monday's rugby papers
Winger from conulla 3 year deal
Re: Monday's rugby papers
Feki then.
Highly rated NRL player previously. Seems to have been heavily criticised by Sharks fans recently. But bearing in mind Eden was considered useless in the NRL, Joe Burgess didn't make a go of it and Fonua seems to have fallen down the pecking order. Consistent NRL performance isn't necessarily that relevant for how a player performs in SL. Could see him going well. The Olpherts signing now makes more sense especially of Claire has been asked to find another club.
Blair for Minikin
Feki for Claire
Olpherts for Egodu
Carr for Gill (in squad terms)
Big improvement imo.

According to Dave 'Nosey' Parker Newcastle Knights are showing an interest in McShane as was Warrington.

Time for Wells to earn his corn and convince them to take Milner instead.castigers2010 wrote:According to Dave 'Nosey' Parker Newcastle Knights are showing an interest in McShane as was Warrington.

Of course they are. Just like almost every NRL team wanted Adam Milner......castigers2010 wrote:According to Dave 'Nosey' Parker Newcastle Knights are showing an interest in McShane as was Warrington.

Is that because it says in League Express that the Feki deal is likely to be our last major piece of business? :-k
