Would you...
Would you...
How many of you would welcome swapping gale for Hastings, I know I would. Gales had 2 bad leg injuries and is the wrong side of 30. Who knows how long he has left and if he'll be as good as he was. I'm sure if we waved a carrot under Salfords nose and offered hastings a decent wage bump we could nab him.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.

Would imagine if Hastings stays in this country after this season he will want marquee money which he as more chance getting at Salford with the good Doc paying his wages.bane73 wrote:How many of you would welcome swapping gale for Hastings, I know I would. Leeds are rumoured to have offered Hull 500k for Connor and turned it down. Would we take that money for luke?

He got 5 years left, but he's very important to us.the machine wrote:Yesmart0042 wrote:Leeds are rumoured to have offered Hull 500k for Connor and turned it down. Would we take that money for luke?

Re: Would you...
No, luke when fit is absolute quality and a great bloke too. Hastings whilst good, is not the level luke was before his injury and deserves the chance to get back to that form.bane73 wrote:How many of you would welcome swapping gale for Hastings, I know I would. Re: Would you...
As above.
Don't get the obsession with Hastings. He's a good player but he's only played half a season against the top teams in this comp, while he joined last year and excelled against the bottom 4 sides and Championship sides.
Think Gale has the better kicking game too, in which case makes Hastings more of a runner/support player type. I'd always see him as a foil to Gale than replacing him.
Don't think he'd ever leave Salford either. Big fish, small pond and all that, seems like an honest bloke too who likes to give something back so think he'll stay with them

Re: Would you...
I think they're slightly different which comes with age I guess too.
Gale tends to drag everyone round and makes the whole better, won't do as much off the cuff or put on a single individual game-changing play.
Hastings on the other hand is more likely to turn a game single handed. Albeit I don't watch him week in week out, I would suggest he is good, probably better individually, but Gale makes the team better more if that makes sense.
Simple answer, have both!

Re: Would you...
I've got a question for you all....
Just for fun
A fully fit Gale until he retires and Trueman leave now...
Or
Trueman sign a big 5 year deal but Gale leave now....
Can only have 1.
Gale would be gauranteed to stay fit until he retires so 5 year or whatever...
Just wondered what people would see as more important. Chance of Trueman staying for life so 15 year or whatever or get a solid 5 more seasons from Gale.

Re: Would you...
Trueman for me, then bring another half back in to replace gale.
There’s no guarantee gale will ever be the same player again.
2 years older, some big injuries.
Let him go for me.

Gale for 5 years or Trueman for 15 years, then Trueman.
Trueman or Gale for 5 years, then Gale.
