My favourite times watching Cas; the Raper years. There was a buzz about the place that I hadn’t seen before or since. Match days down the Lane were something else, especially when the ‘big boys’ were in town. The May Day draw against Bradford in ‘99 springs to mind when there were, apparently, just over 10k in. Think that must just have been the point at which they stopped counting! 8-[

Was that the game when Craig Huby converted from the touching to get the draw?

No, too early for Huby, who didn’t appear until around 2003/4.

One of the worst feelings I ever had when we lost to London.

We’re we playing Halifax when Huby kicked that goal right at the end? Touch line, main stand side kicking to Railway end.

What a game that was.
That second half was superb.
No idea how we clawed it back.
But we did.

The game I'm thinking of was in June 2006, Cas 26 Bradford 26. Huby converted from main stand side touchline to Wheldon Road end in the last minute,

Not interested in Craig huby what - so - ever

Stu Raper had Cas firing and performing at 100% from every single guy that took to the field. Great years. Think he knew mid 2000/1 that there was no money to further the squad. Otherwise, we’d have been top dogs. Dale Fritz was a great signing.
