Re: Luke Gale
How about Pita Godinet. Training at Hudds but not attached to anyone. One year deal playing at 9 with Milner and letting Macca move into the halfes?
Re: Luke Gale
In today’s game, I think a 9 needs to be able to do 80 minutes, especially given there’s now only 8 interchanges allowed. Leave Milner at 13, interchanging with Massey / FosterTigerade wrote:How about Pita Godinet. Training at Hudds but not attached to anyone. Godinet can play half back aswell so we could leave mcshane where hes best.Tigerade wrote:How about Pita Godinet. Training at Hudds but not attached to anyone. One year deal playing at 9 with Milner and letting Macca move into the halfes?
CLASSY CAS FOREVER
Re: Luke Gale
if you forget everything else just on gales goal kicking alone its going to be a massive loss to us,this point few weeks to go to kick off cant see a lot of options out there who we could bring in to replace him

He just seems to make sense to everyone.
Cas - we need a half who can kick. But we only need him for a year until Gale is back.
Hastings - he’s been clear that he only wants to stay in England for a year, so that arrangement suits him.
Salford - in danger of entering administration. If selling one player (who they only have contracted for a year) avoids this (and the points deduction that will make them relegation favourites) then it makes sense for them to sell.
Obviously, I don’t know the club’s finances. But with Hastings only having a year’s contract at Salford and the fact they are staring down the barrel of administration, they won’t be able to command a massive fee. Likewise, we’re only guessing where we are with the salary cap, but if Gale doesn’t play all season he won’t count anyway.
Can we afford to pay a transfer fee and a salary to someone to cover for an injured player? Who knows. Can we afford not to though?

hastings i rate highly it would be great if we were thinking along those lines ...

Re: Luke Gale
Firstly all the very best for Luke to fully recover
Regards Luke going to miss 2019 season yes it’s a blow but he did not play a big part in last seasons third place which was a good season Luke’s absence was a big factor in Jake Truman blossoming so before panicking and recruiting a substandard fill in let’s give the young guys a opportunity

Re: Luke Gale
This would be the perfect scenario, signing him would be the difference of making the top 3 or 4 and going with what we have and probably looking at around 7th. Gales goalkicking and drop goals alone is probably worth 5/6 points a season and inreckon that mid-table will be congested. Four places in the table is worth 100k in prize money alone, thats without better attendances coming from better performances and maybe a run at the cup.nottinghamtiger wrote:Jackson Hastings.tigerfeat wrote:if you forget everything else just on gales goal kicking alone its going to be a massive loss to us,this point few weeks to go to kick off cant see a lot of options out there who we could bring in to replace him

We should dangle the carrot to Salford at the very least. In fact 100K & Wardle for Hastings & Sau would be very nice indeed.

We only have one place on the non-fed quota though, so we can’t have both. The Firm wrote:This would be the perfect scenario, signing him would be the difference of making the top 3 or 4 and going with what we have and probably looking at around 7th. Re: Luke Gale
Can’t believe folks actually can make themselves believe Jackson Hastings would jump ship at this stage.
Then again who am I to say. It’s easy to get excited ha ha
We need to get the cheque book out
Thing is Luke’s wages will be covered by insurance and him taken off the salary cap so that’s at least 100k to spend on the cap.
There’ll definitely be an up and coming Aussie half back we’ll uncover. Meanwhile , and no I’m not joking, would rangi be intertested or capable?
Other than that, brad Davis! Lol
There’ll definitely be a half back on their way before long.

Good point. Evalds instead of Sau then and switch Peanut to centre.nottinghamtiger wrote:We only have one place on the non-fed quota though, so we can’t have both. The Firm wrote:This would be the perfect scenario, signing him would be the difference of making the top 3 or 4 and going with what we have and probably looking at around 7th. Re: Luke Gale
If Salford have the choice of selling him or going into administration, they’ll be encouraging him to leave. Even without him they are far better than London and should survive in SL. Go into administration and cop a points deduction and everything changes, they’ll be favourites for the drop I’d imagine. They won’t take that risk for one player who has already said he’s going home in 2020 whatever happens.Mysterio wrote:Can’t believe folks actually can make themselves believe Jackson Hastings would jump ship at this stage.

Rangi got a full 2 year ban, so he can’t play again until the end of July. I think he blew his last chance at Cas though.

Or maybe, we give Ashton a go, the lads absolutely chomping at the bit to play for us. Danny Richardson didn't do too badly last season when thrown in.

Confirmation of Luke Gale's injury. Will have surgery this week.
Best case 6 months. Worst case a year.

Re: Luke Gale
So 6 months takes him to July, that's without any kind of training what so ever. Permitting that he fully recovers and is allowed back training, he's have to have at least 3 months under his belt after half a year off. That takes him to October, there's just no way he can be match fit this year.
