A lot of people think Foster will be there. I hope not his passing ability is not very good.

I think it will be Minikin or Roberts personally.

IT looks almost certain that Minikin will start the season at centre that was the position he was brought in to play and that is were DP sees him, a FIT Benny Roberts would get into most teams lets hope he as more luck on the injury front as the poor lad seems to spend more time being unavailable than being available

With the players that we know are missing for the first game I think we'll line up something like this:

Peanut
Clare
Minikin
Shenton
Eden
Trueman
Roberts
Watts
McShane
Millo
McMeeken
Foster
Milner

Massey
Jesse
Cook
Moors

On Roberts, I’ve always thought that there is a very good player in there somewhere, but I have to say that he appears lazy sometimes. I just hope DP can re-ignite his enthusiasm back to 2017 levels for his final year with us. If he can remain fit and with the number of positions he can cover we could have a potential match winner off the bench.

Don't have an issue with BR filling in for Gale at all (despite the popular opinion I still rate him and think he's one of best attacking players) the only thing that does worry me is BR always seems to struggle with the heavy ground in the first 6 weeks or so of the season..................

Agree with your starting 13 but not sure of the value of having 4 props on the bench when we are moving to only 8 interchanges.
I would have thought a back or utility player would have been a better option . Maybe swop Foster and JSL around.

Its a good shout that Gateman, I think you've probably nailed it there, Truman and Ellis in the halves for the first 4 to 6 weeks is probably what we are going to see.......

8 interchanges may actually work to our advantage over the season. Our pack is arguably the most mobile in the league, with pretty much every forward we have able to play 80 minute games. You look at the bigger packs in SL, Catalan, Saints, Hull etc and their big lads will struggle with more minutes.

We need a winger if Minikin moves inside. Clare is a squad player not a starter.

Is your purpose in life to be a bell end? What’s your point that you are trying to make? I am asking a simple question, has anybody else heard same thing? You just come on here to wind every body up. You are very brave, sat behind your keyboard, you keyboard warrior :-$ :-$ this is your only post on this topic, which is to criticise somebody else, well done
Just remind me where is the question in your original post? Also, topic is about the starting line up for 2019, not the rumoured swap deal between Cas and Huddersfield. No keyboard warrior, I just asked you a question which you have failed to even answer. Proves you never read the post and therefore, you have once again failed to add to this forum. Also, because it’s a quiet night, I have spell and grammatically checked and corrected your reply, just so the rest of the forum can read, digest and understand what (I think) you were trying to say. Please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

Good job hey??? Anyway, back on topic. FWIW, as the current squad stands, Joe Wardle (IMHO) walks its our starting line up in the centre position vacantly by Jake Webster’s departure. This is where our esteemed coach earns his corn, by successfully managing the difficult members of the squad to get them on board with the rest of the group. In his time at Cas, I’ve not seen enough on Greg Minikin at centre that convinces me that he is the long term option. I hope he can prove me (and others) wrong but, at this minute, Wardle gets the centre berth for mine.

People like you [REMOVED] me off. "I have grammatically checked and corrected your reply" get a grip of yourself. We all understood what he said so if anything you are the one to take this topic off point. People can't all spell properly or use correct grammer. But does it matter??? No. It's like being an online bully correcting people for making mistakes!!!

As for the topic....

I am happy where we are with our forwards but still feel unless we make a change to our backline we could be in for a tough season. They were caught out a few times last season and not sure how it gets any easier without a new, stronger player or two.

We don't know what Minikin will offer at centre unless he gets a prolonged spell there. Player grow into positions over time, and he was signed as a centre project.
