according to the BBC this rule change is to be implemented from next season.

The RFL should be looking at how to turn around plummeting attendances in traditional RL areas than introducing gimmicks for armchair supporters in Saffron Walden

Personalty the many draws Ive seen over the years walking from the ground Ive been happy that its been an exciting game and a fair result. Sadly that's no longer going to be the case .. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Ridiculous! Sometimes a draw is the right result. Golden Point (should be golden try in my opinion) in knock out games is fair enough, but not in league games. We've seen some exciting draws over the years. Golden Point just turns a good game into a joke of a kick fest for 10 mins and ruins the game. Not a good move in my opinion. 7 Thursday games this season, 5 of them away that could now potentially mean getting back well after midnight for those that travel to away games. Super Leagues new strapline for supporters - #whoneedssleep. I don't often agree with Alf, but he's bang right about gimmicks for armchair supporters.

^^ True, so I'll rephrase it. Sometimes a draw after 80 mins is the right result. 10 mins of attempted dropgoals doesn't interest me at all.

Other than the additional time on Sky coverage, I can't see an issue with it. Frantic play as teams attempt to get into a position to take a drop goal should be exciting and in that I include strong running attackers hit by determined defenders - bang!

Then there's the emotional ups and downs of either winning or losing that will occasionally be tempted by a draw after the extra 10 minutes.

I have to agree with that.
How many will leave after the final hooter to either get a bus or a train home.

The race to cover a drop goal I. Defensive patterns will open up more set moves for tries. That will be their thinking.
