I personally, don’t think Holmes had done enough to warrant a place in the England side in the first place. But as a Cas fan, naturally, I was happy that one of our lads is getting a chance on the big stage. Bennett stated, that if ‘fringe’ players, play well, then they would have a great chance at making the squad for the NZ series.

Now for me, if a player is voted the man of the match, or players player, whatever the award was Oli got, then surely that says that he was the stand out player and warrants a place in the squad?

just like the rest of the recent GB coaches its horses for courses, form players should always be picked above players with reputations

As good as Holmes played hes not going to get picked over Whitehead or Bateman
