I think Castleford should have a one year plan, which should be

1. To finish higher in the league this year.

2. To go further in the Challenge Cup

3. To reach the Grand final.

If we perform better in all competions than we did this year I will be highly delighted.

It’s like a cut and paste business PowerPoint I’ve seen thousands of times before at different places I’ve worked.Where was this motivational talk before last Friday!!

Win the challenge cup and superleague in next 3 years?!? And be in new ground. I’m sure he means well but it’s unbelievable how unrealistic this is. Added in that some of our better players are getting older and some will move on,it’s good to be ambitious.

You think so...most SUCCESSFUL, FORWARD THINKING, organisations indulge in this so why should'nd we.
In three years aim:
To win Grand Final
To Win challenge cup
Be in stadium by 2021
Continue to be in SL top four
Aim for continued growth of 7% each year
Have reserve side by 2020
Promote inclusiveness via Female Tigers team
Etc
But hey ho this is Cas Tigers were we don't want goals ( whether we achieve them is another matter)
I look forward to wilderness years we've had in the past, relegations, zero achievement no media exposure, no NATIONAL player awards (m& f), unispiring performances think of 2007 when we played Widnes at Headingley who's shoes would you rather be in.

Do I welcome this communication from Jon Wells you bet your sweet 'bippy' I do

Well if someone could point us in the right direction to look at it, we all may very well welcome it.

of course we expect the club to have targets, it would be a bad job if they didn’t but simply issuing them on a statement isn’t going to make them any more achievable. Every club in the league will have similar goals but obviously the majority are going to fall short.

I’m just getting a bit tired of his statements already, we’ve had a few on the Monday morning following poor performances but has it prevented us from repeating them? no it hasn’t.

Get some quality players identified Wellsy and stop it with the corporate bs

Some interesting responses from fans.
Seems the club are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Every business has a business plan, a succession plan, business targets, ambitious attainment targets. If they achieve these, well done, if not the management is held to account. It's they way of business, whether it's platitudinous, cut and paste, or anything else.
If they issued no plans, they would be accused of lack of ambition. They can't be accused of that, and thank goodness.
In reality, how many clubs would you swap places with?
I've watched Cas since 1959, buy my season ticket regardless of results because I was born in Cas, am proud of my team, and have rarely been happier. Relative success on the field, financially sound (unlike the Van Der Velde era. New stadium on the horizon. Long may it last.

Setting goals you have no influence on isn't a sensible thing for any organisation to be doing.

The promotion of the 19s needs to be a lot better media needs to be better at promoting players that have sign as they have not announced a few who have sign they done a good job with the women so they need to do it with the u16s and 19s but now mrs cooper has left lets see if things get better

Agree 100% some u19s games wernt even advertised until a few hours before ko. Match reports were inaccurate sometimes not written for days.

Hopefully the introduction of a reserve side will see an improvement in communication with its fan base.

Exactly what I thought, we have no influence on the new stadium getting built so why include it. Still it’s all down on paper now, it will be interesting to see what personal responsibility individuals at the club take if and when these ambitious goals don’t materialise.

Jesus Christ our fans are never happy. Some folk are never pleased.

It’s missing some real hows and whats in terms of how exactly we are going to achieve these and through what means. But I wouldn’t expect that from the club to divulge so that people can scorn and take it apart.

Fans moan that they don’t know exactly what the club’s ambition is, what their aims and goals are and what the plan is. Well there are some KPIs and some level of accountability there.

Of course we want to win the CC and GF. That would be in any document - that’s the fundamental aim of the game. I’d be worried if they didn’t put that!

It’s nice the club thought of the fans to put this out and share with us their vision - including state of the art training facilities, increased turnover and a 7% increase YoY.

Because that’s what we are working towards - being in a new stadium. That is when Axiom is opening and that is when the stadium will be built by.

It also ends within 3 years because 2021 is when the new TV deal is up for renegotiation and we don’t know what the state of play is.
