Re: C`mon Warrington
Still don't think a team finishing 15 points behind the leaders could be crowned league champions. Super league winners maybe but not champions

Saints win 26 of 30 games and lose out over 80 mins. It’s a crazy system.flow wrote:true but everybody now's the rule before a ball is kicked it is what it is you have to try and peak at right time only conclusion you get more money higher you finishchesterfieldtiger wrote:Still don't think a team finishing 15 points behind the leaders could be crowned league champions. It’s ok saying they knew the rules, but it’s not like anyone has a choice.

Re: C`mon Warrington
To be fair for most of the history of Rugby League, finishing top has not guaranteed winning the Championship.
When I was a kid it was decided by a top 16 playoff where finishing first or second only had a value in ensuring home games through to the final
Top teams work their season around the final run in and long may it continue

Re: C`mon Warrington
delighted saints lost, what a set of big headed arrogant s#ds they were when refusing to celebrate winning the league leaders shield thinking that by not celebrating they would automatically win something bigger, well hey hey
Re: C`mon Warrington
And some of there fans who thought it meaningless to play brilliant rugby all summer win the league by a mile but not get any respect because you lose one knock out cup game are saying winning the league should mean more !!

Re: C`mon Warrington
It's their own fault all this stick they are getting from all the other clubs supporters , Saints the team that have only made 1 final in the last 6 or 7 years I think and didn't even celebrate winning it. At least Cas and Wire get to the final before we cave! Saints can't get past the semi's before they lose their nerve. Then don't forget how the fan's celebrated when they drew Catalan in the challenge cup.

Poetic justice, after all the flack we got last year from the Saints fans re winning the LLS and bottling it in the big one (the GF). At least we got there!!
Still think that the leaders at the end of the normal round of matches shoiuld be classed as Champions, forget the "magic weekend", so the leader after 22 matches, when everyone has played everyone else twice, is clearly the best team in the league and should be the "Champions".
Then have another completely seperate competition for the top 8 teams and call it the SL Challenge Trophy or something, either as a straight k-o, or all play all, giving another 7 games.

Re: C`mon Warrington
My objection to the top four is that we have a tougher match finishing third than Warrington did finishing fourth
The old top five system was fairer to the top team as you got a week off and and a second chance.
Either way delighted saints lost lol

Yeh, because we’ve had it so easy at Sts over the years!tallguyx wrote:My objection to the top four is that we have a tougher match finishing third than Warrington did finishing fourth

I don’t agree with the fourth placed team, or third for that matter, being able to make the final in one game at the expense of the League leaders. The LLS should guarantee a GF place and let 2-5 battle it out for the other spot.
Re: C`mon Warrington
The point I was making if they have been in poor form since they lost in the challenge cup. Wigan are the form team at the moment. Look how long it took them to win the shield even when it was a forgone conclusion.Nu Shooze wrote:Yeh, because we’ve had it so easy at Sts over the years!tallguyx wrote:My objection to the top four is that we have a tougher match finishing third than Warrington did finishing fourth

Re: C`mon Warrington
They should crown the LLS winners superl league champions after 30 rounds and have a decent trophy to boot. The superlague grand finalists should be crowned the superleague premiers. You can celebrate the 2 then not like that debacle we witnessed a few weeks back

We used to have that, it was called the premiership and the final was at Old Trafford.stuey wrote:Poetic justice, after all the flack we got last year from the Saints fans re winning the LLS and bottling it in the big one (the GF). At least we got there!!
