Paul mcshane and Adam Milner.

What a travesty, no macca in the England squad.
But congratulations to Adam Milner who as made it.

What’s most annoying is there’s no Roby and mcshane still gets over looked, how can that be right.
Looks like Bennett as chose daz Clark’s before mcshane. ](*,)

Reece Lynne is really scraping the barrel now. Are we that hard up for English centres?!

Greenwood has been great for Wigan since he signed, think he's earnt his call up.

Feel sorry for Macca, he deserves a call up.

Reece Lyne is the shock for me.

If you're picking a team from the squad selected on form this season, both SL and NRL it would have to be;

Tomkins
Makinson
Percival
Connor
Johnstone
Lomax
Richardson
Graham
McShane
Thompson
Bateman
Whitehead
Milner

Roby
S Burgess
T Burgess
Greenwood

McShane, Richardson & Roby not in the squad. Unless I've misunderstood your post

Lynne has had a good season but if selected will get picked apart out wide by the kiwis...don't think his defence is upto much.

I think the centres for the 1985 series against the kiwis was Hanley & Schofield. The talent & skill level in the backs in the back line at the top level has dropped dramatically over the years.

Bennett is picking players who play in their natural positions so for example, can you name many English right centres?

Cudjoe?
Sarginson?
Atkins?

Lyne way be a bolt from the blue but we're really short of decent right centres who are in form. In that sense, he probably deserves his call-up but in doing so is fortunate that he's in a position where we are weak. Any aspiring centres should really be eyeing up that right berth and contemplate moving to that side if they have international ambition, as understudy to Watkins.

Let's look at it like this - it perhaps indicates yet again that Bateman will be right centre:

Team of

Tomkins, McGillvary, Bateman, Percival, Johnstone, Lomax, Gale, Graham, Hodgson, G Burgess, S Burgess, Whitehead, O'Loughlin

Subs: Hill, Clark, T Burgess, Greenwood/Thompson

Full back
Sam Tomkins
Stefan Ratchford

Right Wing
Jermaine McGillvary
Tommy Makinson

Right Centre
John Bateman
Reece Lyne

Left Centre
Mark Percival
Jake Connor

Left Wing
Tom Johnstone

Stand Off
Jonny Lomax
George Williams

Scrum Half
Luke Gale

Hooker
Daryl Clark
Josh Hodgson

Prop
George Burgess
Tom Burgess
James Graham
Chris Hill
Luke Thompson

Right Second Row
Elliott Whitehead

Left Second Row
Sam Burgess
Joe Greenwood

Loose Forward
Sean O'Loughlin
Adam Milner

Lets hope the lads that have not been selected go out and win the grand final for CAS and show Bennet why he should have picked them
