Wire friday

Post by tigerfeat » 13 Aug 2018, 07:11

I listened to Powell's post match interview from the Wigan game for the first time yesterday something he said put a big doubt in my mind about the chances of getting back to Old Trafford this year
'Wigan came at us with a lot of physicality we knew they would do that and we were just not able to handle it in anyway '
Basically bullied all over the field , I've believed most of the season once we got gale and Truman in the haves signed a decent full-back which we've done our forwards would do the rest im not so sure now
Lest hope we can come out from the start on Friday and put in a performance to restore the faith
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

I think if we lose then best we can hope for is 4th place as we will be 2 wins behind Wire and 2/3 wins behind Wigan with 5 to play.

Week before CC Final. We have to go all in and try and win to keep fighting for 2nd or 3rd and avoiding Saints. I suppose it all depends what team we have available on Friday if we have any chance at all.

We would only be one win behind Wire if we lose and there will be some consequences for them for still being in the cup
Third is very doable

Wigan will lose quite a few of these games, especially away. Just prior to Friday we beat them with a second team. Wouldn’t be surprised if catalans beat them on Saturday, even with players out

Effectively 2 with Wires superior points difference thanks largely to Catalans no show last week.

I think Catalan will rest everyone. Massive chance at CC glory.

So one or possibly two depending on scorelines then. The PD difference isn’t massive. Mind you we will win on Friday so it doesn’t matter

I will be relieved if we get 2pts on Friday. Huddersfield are still a fair bit back, but sport is filled with near certs becoming a cropper. I will give you a couple for starters...Greg Norman at Augusta in 96 (?),and the Crisp/Red Rum Grand National.

I would go

Mata'utia
Eden
shenton
Webster
Clare
Trueman
Ellis
watts
Macca
massey
Holmes
mcmeeken
Milner

Wardle
Moors
Clark
Millo (if fit)

if Q is fit I'd go with him at 1, Peter at 4 and Webster off the bench.

100% need Jakes D against Wire, Mata’utia will offer more in D than Q too.

Q for Ellis

Love how Clark has blossomed. This season with Green, Maher or Springer on the bench always feels, even if they try their damnedest, that it's a weak link of sorts but Clark has been incredible. Come on faster that first thought i'm sure, kinda like Foster and McMeeken.

Ellis had his best game for us at Wigan.

i too thought Ellis had a good game his kicking was far better than of late, we need the points if we are going to cement a place in the top four, who knows if the results go for us we still could finish second, then the unthinkable could happen we loss all our matches and finish 5th every match should be a must win
