Agree, they get very little down time, it baffles me that people think they should not get days off and a chance to have some time with their families. I assume you all take annual leave from work, they don’t have the luxury of that.ERG2012 wrote:Got to recharge with R&R

Let’s hope they all return hungry for OT

Re: Wane.
I think wane really stoked it up though when he complained powell was the only one from super league that didn't contact him to congratulate them on winning the world club trophy.tallguyx wrote:He’s always been super friendly to me. I’d rather have Daryl as a coach though.
Can Anyone provide a full background into the Wane v Powell situation.
Did it start with the photo under the Wigan sticks away when we’d beat them? Or does it go further back ?
Did they have a feud as players?
You know I don’t mind Wane. He’s always complimentary if we beat them, or lose against them, as he is with other teams. He’s no doubt a stubborn old bugger, but overall he’s harmless.
The Castleford v Wigan feud to me started when they cheated the salary cap and got us relegated. I think Wane and Powell just fed off the animosity.

Re: Wane.
it was sad to see poor old jy wandering around on his own today without his cas gear on.Swagger wrote:McMeekan also went to Lakes.... Heard interview on radio today saying his Wigan players are in training hard for a big game v Castleford next week despite some clubs using the free weekend to have time away. He says the players are in as normal and that Wigan does not reward failure. Wigan should be playing a CC semi final this weekend but there not and as a result training continues to make sure no more opportunities slip. Maybe a dig at Cas who have half a team in Croatia at the moment. Will have to see next week which practise is best Powell way or wane lol.
Other half were with Maher in the Lakes.
Webster Mayer Clare Lakes
Massey France
Watts Ibiza
Let’s all hope they ant been on the 2-1 cocktails
Moors, Eden, Ogi, Milner and Clark to Croatia.
Gale went to family farm I believe....
Nothing wrong with letting them have a break. Pretty sure we did the same last season and it went well after.

Re: Wane.
Wane as made a valid point, Wigan bring their players in to build for the 8s whilst Cas have rewarded their players with summer holidays during the season for failing to advance in the cup.
How each side goes through the 8s will show which coach got it right.

Re: Wane.
The history between the two clubs goes back to heppy breaking their star player Colin tyrer's jaw in the challenge cup final. Thereas been numerous times we've clashed over the years that as upset Wigan
86 challenge cup QF Wigan were huge favourites to win the cup
92 regal trophy
99 play offs upstaging them on there opening night.
Of course Wigan have had there wins too but we really get under their skin and wane been a wiganer born and bread knows this more than most. Tbh I've no problem with him and DPs spats it all adds to the game.
There's no love lost but I do believe there is an element of respect

Re: Wane.
Year before Wembley 70 was good too.
Knocked them out of the cup in round 2 before beating Leeds, Wakey and Salford at Wembley

Re: Wane.
I always thought it started at the quarter final of the C.C in 2014 and Wane took offense to Powell being confident of getting a result. He seemed to think this disrespected the then current holders.
Can't remember how that turned out
