That tackle on a quality international was one of the stand out moments of the match for me. Ratchford is not easy to put downNobody wrote:Also a try saving tackle on Ratchford. With a full pre season and his timing right, got a feeling we have a belter of a fullback in the making.

Re: Peter Mata’utia
His positional sense and organisation was top notch tonight.
He’ll get even better with a full preseason and gets to know our moves and plays.
Not sure where he will end up though, could be center, he looked composed tonight and took some very high balls with ease. I’d like to see him stay at fullback and nick bill Tupou off Wakefield.

He has to play full back next year. He showed tonight how talented he is there.
Re: Peter Mata’utia
the tackel on Rachford was top draw well worth the entrance fee,
Re: Peter Mata’utia
As Rashford went through I thought now we will see. And what a great tackle, he also held on for the perfect amount of time without giving away a pen.gateman wrote:the tackel on Rachford was top draw well worth the entrance fee,
He is still getting used to the attacking moves, but that will come in time. Overall, he looks like a good FB and should adapt to our style. Shame we couldn't get him from the start of the season.

Re: Peter Mata’utia
He's got everything we need for are full-back if Jake goes we can think about a centre to replace him tho we do have minikin who could easy play there next year
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Re: Peter Mata’utia
If/when jake goes he'll need replacing either with another centre or with Mata'utia then another full back is needed. Minikin for me is our 2nd choice winger and should be our 3rd choice centre next year

Pete has to be full back next year.
Re: Peter Mata’utia
Have you forgotten 2016 when Greg played centre all year and was fantastic throughout in his first chance at SL level? The experience he’s built in the last two years taken back into the position he has played all his life should give us a centre that will make a huge difference.jackknife wrote:If/when jake goes he'll need replacing either with another centre or with Mata'utia then another full back is needed. Re: Peter Mata’utia
Given the depth we have in the forwards and Milner opting to re-sign I’d like to see Foster replace Webster next year. I think he has the talent and attitude to give us a like-for-like replacement at no extra cost since he’s already under contract.
PM looked awesome at fullback last night. We have been missing that all year. He has to stay there and finally give us a replacement for Hardaker.

Alex Foster is not a centre. Not quick enough.TypingMonkey wrote:Given the depth we have in the forwards and Milner opting to re-sign I’d like to see Foster replace Webster next year. Re: Peter Mata’utia
Never let us down once when he’s played there this year. If he was playing there permanently he could play at a lower weight and it would help his speed. Remember he has at times played prop for us this year too.

Let’s just say he’s versatile.

Re: Peter Mata’utia
I’m not saying he is a prop?! I’m saying he’s playing at a heavier weight because he has played all over the park this year, including at prop. If he were permanently a centre he would lose weight and gain speed. Simple really, not sure what you’re struggling to understand.Fumper27 wrote:Alex Foster is not a prop. You sussed him out HT.
I’ve had to put up with it for 25yrs, he’s a good lad though.
Re: Peter Mata’utia
We're still trying to source a full back for 2019 so Powell must want Pete to go to right centre next year.
