Re: Peter Mata’utia
Great news. Just a thought about the length of the deal. The article mentions a 3 year deal. Surely this should be 3.5 years to the end of 2021 ?

Leigh fans rave about him, think it's a great signing and another box ticked off, how have we squeezed him in on the quota, is another announcement imminent 're possible exits.
Another 3 new faces in the close season and we'll be one of the strongest squads for the 2019 season, not that I'm writing this one off just yet.

Get Tauitia from Wigan signed up and job done for next year IMO. I would imagine a couple of exits are imminent before tomorrow's deadline.

Re: Peter Mata’utia
This may sound negative but isn't meant to be but if we've been watching him and the leigh situation all year why have we given a extention to qlt on a quota spot if ma'tautia is going to play full back, why didn't we just wait to see what happened regards to this week and offered qlt a contract from next week if needed? With all respect to qlt he's 34 or nearly 34 so a 1 year deal is all he could hope for especially at a s/l club. I'm all for competition for places and think ma'tautia is a quality centre but again untested as a s/ full back.
Do we think qlt will play at 6 until roberts and gale are ready to play?
One thing for sure Peter is a quality centre with the ability to play fb. Welcome to the club sir

No extension has been agreed with QLT, discussions happened but nothing confirmed out of it yet.SWISS TONY!! wrote:This may sound negative but isn't meant to be but if we've been watching him and the leigh situation all year why have we given a extention to qlt on a quota spot if ma'tautia is going to play full back, why didn't we just wait to see what happened regards to this week and offered qlt a contract from next week if needed? Re: Peter Mata’utia
I'm sure he was given a extension tI'll the end of next year. About 2/3 week back.
Yes he's played full back at leigh
Where did he play I'm the 70 odd games in Australia?
Centre! And was good too.
He's a strong bloke with good feet. It seems everybody In the nrl wants to be a full back these days. Getting that way over here. He may well be a great full back but his trade is at centre
Looking forward to watching him though

We haven't given QLT one yet, it was rumored we were/are going to. Re: Peter Mata’utia
Great news. Wells certainly seems to be earning his money. Well done all involved, he’s a class player. I don’t think there is any need at all now to give QLT a deal for next year.
Re: Peter Mata’utia
Excellent signing and just what we needed for the business end to the season.get gale back out there and plenty of hours on the training field gaining a understanding with each other and we could have a very good end to the season
Re: Peter Mata’utia
delighted, well done CAS!

Re: Peter Mata’utia
Seems from the outside that John Wells is doing a good job. Don't tell Robbo.

Re: Peter Mata’utia
Much better signing than anything “The Saviour” brought to the club.
Wells and DP seem to be working “Together” rather than one ego trying to run it all. Future looks brighter.
