Scratchy first half. Poor completion rate and couldn't get going. Both sides scored from kick throughs with defences slow to react. At 6-6 in last minutes before ht we again turned down a penalty to go in front.
Second half was an improvement and we did the job.
Mcshane was his usual self and does every role he is asked to a high standard. QLT was quiet but still made 2 tries, the one for Gill was particularly impressive. Webster showed he is still a threat and he caused them trouble.
Defensively we stood firm. Salford were not great but not horrendous. Wardle looked ok until he was carried off with another injury.
Solid second half won us the game.

I'm still baffled why we refuse the 2 points with half time approaching - 2 weeks on the bounce kickable penalties turned down virtually on the stroke of half time to extend/take the lead going into the sheds. Apart from that, job done yet again. Flying under the radar very nicely at the moment just going about our business quietly and only 1 point away from second. Wigan could very easily fall to both Saints and Catalans, Warrington have to travel to KR and Saints so no gimmes for them either and we have a chance of winning both our remaining 2 (although Huddersfield is going to be tough on their current form). A very realistic chance that we could be 3 points clear of Wigan and 6 points ahead of Warrington come the split with bodies returning to the squad for the 8's. Looking very nice at the moment :D

^^ It certainly would, and is a very realistic possibility. Given that both Wire and Leeds followed a LLS with an appearance in the Middle 8's I think we are doing fantastic this year. No media pressure this year either - brilliant :D
