Will the rhinos come calling ?
McDermott sacked.
I'm sure Powell will be high on the list with the bookmakers to replace him?

Re: Will the rhinos come calling ?
I’m sure he will be at the top of their wish list.
However, given the way they treated him when he left before, I hope and doubt he will want to go back there.
Looking at the respective squads, he also has a far better chance of winning silverware at Cas at the moment in my opinion.
However, we know that money talks. In reality, who wouldn’t move employers for a far higher salary?

Re: Will the rhinos come calling ?
If he does go I’d be surprised and dissapoinred in his character because they screwed him over before and I wouldn’t have thought he’d be dumb enough to fall for their crap again.

Re: Will the rhinos come calling ?
The way they treated him last time he was there I very much doubt he will go back.
But also didn't he take it out of the contract that he wouldnt talk to other clubs or words to that effect?
Yes money is a motivator, but there's also a lot to be said about environment and atmosphere and where you'd be happier.
TBH I see Cas as his club and tbh would only leave for a national side or if he fancied moving to AUS.

Sadly money talks, over the years when we have been over achieving the big clubs have flashed their cash, Raper to Wigan springs to mind,

Leeds don't pay big bucks. They are well known for keeping the pure strings tightgateman wrote:Sadly money talks, over the years when we have been over achieving the big clubs have flashed their cash, Raper to Wigan springs to mind,

Tis true, however I would not go back to my last employer even if they offered me twice what I am on now.gateman wrote:Sadly money talks, over the years when we have been over achieving the big clubs have flashed their cash, Raper to Wigan springs to mind,

Re: Will the rhinos come calling ?
I doubt Leeds will come calling for Powell.
He's contracted to Cas for a while and I imagine Cas would demand huge money for him. Leeds don't strike me as a club willing to pay for big bucks both for coaches and for players.

Been taking some trainings down there in the last couple of week. So already got his hand in. Leeds don’t have too much money to spend with what they are shelling out on the ground and reduced capacity.daytona wrote:Jimmy Lowes

Re: Will the rhinos come calling ?
]Daryl strikes me as a person of integrity.
He likes a challenge and Cas have provided him not only with his opportunity at the top table but a chance of achieving something special at Castleford and to become a legend.
He has built something special at the club but l don't think he feels his job is finished here and l feel he would like to see it through.
Yes Leeds screwed him over .
Yes they could promise him x and y as carrots to entice him.
What Club would not want someone of his abilities.
Leeds are in disarray does he really want to start all over again with a club who may not be at the top table next year.
Leeds are a wealthy club and are known to be careful with their money but they also need to be successful and this may mean changing their ways financially.
Daryl has a contract in place with Cas.
He has the respect of everyone associated with the club and the sport in general, why would he want to risk all that to go to a floundering Leeds with no guarantees of turning things around with the people who are there at present.
DOOM mongers may say that Saturdays performance was because players knew something was in the wind or conversely that the performance made Daryl question the players commitment.
Who knows?
I really really hope he stays, however his assistants are also up for the challenge unless they were all to go as a package.
Lifes never dull for us Cas fans!
Well roll on Sunday and lets give em the spanking they deserve and show Daryl how much he is admired.
I am sixty five on Sunday and also retire with a party at my pub to follow .
Your all welcome.
There will be lots of Rhinos there so the ideal present would be a resounding victory for Cas Chris Chester taking over at Shedingley and lots of Rhinos crying into my beer.

Re: Will the rhinos come calling ?
I'd suspect David Furner and Paul Anderson may well be on the list of those to take over. Possibly some from the lower leagues such as Danny Ward and maybe even someone like Ian Watson from Salford.

or even (as Garry Schofield like to carry on about) Chris Chester?

Jason Demetriu would be a good option for them.HuddsTigers wrote:I'd suspect David Furner and Paul Anderson may well be on the list of those to take over. Possibly some from the lower leagues such as Danny Ward and maybe even someone like Ian Watson from Salford.
Tim Sheens could probably be persuaded to leave Hull KR.
On another note, I wonder if Wigan are interested in McDermott.
Re: Will the rhinos come calling ?
Dennis Betts perhaps......
