Re: Mitch Clarke

Re: Mitch Clarke
How about resting Jake Webster and playing Wardle in centre? Jake is a warrior but appears to be struggling from time to time.
Re: Mitch Clarke
No wonder there was worry over Powell going I've never know a coach at least in recent times who can pluck players that nobody else is looking at and turn them into the real deal

Re: Mitch Clarke
the potential for Clarke is almost limitless. at the moment he only does one thing and that is drive it in as hard as he can (and wow he does that well) I think that powell will eventually increase his ball skills and involve him more in set moves. its what he seems to do with project players. fozzie being a prime example. looking forward to seeing his progress.

Watching Clarke he outshone our big money signing from Hull who seemed to crab across the line instead of going forward two good games from Clarke two not so good from Liam we know the lad as got it in him and hopefully he will show the form he had at Hull in the next few games

Doubt it. As of July 5thScoopage wrote:Potentially wardle and mcmeeken back next week.who misses out??
12. Mike McMeeken – “Mike had a really strange one. He pulled a hamstring in the Hull KR match but during the same few minutes he landed on his knee, on the top of his patella. and aggravated an old calcification on his knee which has been very sore and that’s hindering him more than his hamstring. His return to play is probably 2-3 weeks off but he should make a full recovery.”
Yes Wardle should be available.

Foster is out for season so that's one headache taken care of for nowCasmoley wrote:Jonny1975 wrote:With the emergence of Mitch Clark, who has been doing that all season for Fev n last 3 for us, it allows DP to play Lefao in his best position... 2nd row, which I think he's one of the best in the comp. It also allows Moors to play there, when he has during his Car career, he's been at times unplayable. I genuinely would not swap our pack for any in the comp. If we get the defence right out wide, we're gonna be major players as the wind up to the 8s & the GF. COYF.
great competition for places. Where do you play Wardle, Holmes, MckMeeken & Foster out of interest..

Know what you mean, but its strange when a season ending injury solves a problem!fords wrote:Foster is out for season so that's one headache taken care of for nowCasmoley wrote:Jonny1975 wrote:With the emergence of Mitch Clark, who has been doing that all season for Fev n last 3 for us, it allows DP to play Lefao in his best position... 2nd row, which I think he's one of the best in the comp. Re: Mitch Clarke
I wouldn't rush Clarke, a coupe of good games doesn't make a player, however, his form is good and he should be playing. Inform players should keep the jerseys until another is better.

Re: Mitch Clarke
Holmes has only looked ropey the last couple of games since he's been moved to the right
He should still be ahead of Wardle and mcmeeken if we're basing it on this seasons form

Re: Mitch Clarke
Clark as been really good since getting his chance but I feel Powell is trying to play Watts more as half than the big go forward prop I had hoped we had signed him for.gateman wrote:Watching Clarke he outshone our big money signing from Hull who seemed to crab across the line instead of going forward two good games from Clarke two not so good from Liam we know the lad as got it in him and hopefully he will show the form he had at Hull in the next few games
Powell needs to get Watts doing what he does best hitting the line and looking for off loads like Radders used him at Hull.

Re: Mitch Clarke
He looks for offloads now, just at the wrong time and stupidly.
I'd rather him get his head down and just run at the line and not worry too much about offloading. Our best hope is him carrying the team forward.

Point is Watts is trying to do what Powell is asking of him and that is taking away from his natural game.HuddsTigers wrote:He looks for offloads now, just at the wrong time and stupidly.

Re: Mitch Clarke
You could feel big liam itching to off load the ball on a number of occasions yesterday ...our forwards were so much on top of there's no need to do owt risky really

Re: Mitch Clarke
From the start of the 2nd half, it was clear that DP had introduced a change of tactics. Direct around the ruck and put Leeds through the mincer! Offloads didn't start again until last few minutes.

Re: Mitch Clarke
The team seem to want to overplay at times just to try and score. We did this last year where we tried to score off every set when we're dominating. Sometimes I wonder if it's better for someone just to pin their ears back and take the tackle, than throwing it around and hoping.tigerfeat wrote:You could feel big liam itching to off load the ball on a number of occasions yesterday ...our forwards were so much on top of there's no need to do owt risky really

Re: Mitch Clarke
I thought watts had a very good game and made big meters but I did wonder if he had been told to cut back on the off loads a bit after last week.
