Re: No longer a rumour.... ZH
This makes a few people on here look silly, who were absolutely adamant he was coming back to us.
Re: No longer a rumour.... ZH
Be a bit lively when we play Wigan next year at home and he's on the back line
Re: No longer a rumour.... ZH
Just can't believe he didn't get a 2 year ban...said he was too drunk and reeling for an anniversary of a serious personal problem...so everyone in the future is gonna come up with these type of stories.

Hurts more that he's gone to Wigan more than anything. They are no doubtedly alot stronger next season now.
Re: No longer a rumour.... ZH
It's just so infuriating that someone does something illegal and will ultimately end up becoming better off because of it. Our sport. Jeez.

I get why they deemed him to be deserving of the sack, but from a business perspective it would have been more sensible to sell him to Wigan.

Your right. Massively boosts their 2019 squad now. So basically we've paid Leeds 150k for Zak for Wigan.........heritage1926 wrote:Hurts more that he's gone to Wigan more than anything. They are no doubtedly alot stronger next season now.

Once again, it feels like Wigan have shafted us. First that salary cap breach and now this, granted Zak was a free agent, still feels like we've been royally fooked.
Re: No longer a rumour.... ZH
Agree, we fork out £150k, Wigan get him for free. We should have insisted on a fee from Wigan or sued Zak for breach of contract.heritage1926 wrote:Once again, it feels like Wigan have shafted us. ZAK no doubt is the best English full back but he is an accident just waiting to happen I cant see it being too long before he is hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons

Re: No longer a rumour.... ZH
The whole sorry mess shows who naive we were (hopefully, Jon Wells will change this and bring some steel into the boardroom) and how we had (?) an inferiority complex and a skin that wasn't thick enough compared to the clubs who have been consistently at the top table in our sport.
It also demonstrates a lack of leadership by the people in control of our game.
It's also a real shame that Steve Gill's involvement in this taints what should be viewed as an outstanding tenure.
Time to move on - but it does hurt after what we had last season.
I've never thought this before about a player but I hope (and expect) that his next fek up is just around the corner and his career ends in tatters.
Roll on Saturday - any kind of win against that lot will start the healing process.
It could be worse - we could be where Bradford Bulls are......
Always black & Amber....
