Re: FULL BACK
Evalds would be my choice. Thats who I suggested back in November, and thats who I'm sticking with. Theres just something about his style of play that I think would fit straight in with ours

Re: FULL BACK
Me too, Evalds is the guy, hes very much an athlete similar in style to Zak, he would chime in from full back on the left perfectly, hes got great defense and pace to burn, you rarely see him shell a high ball or a pass, he should be our number one target, especially with Salford on the brink, maybe they would like Egodo or Jy and a bit of cash, they would still be getting a decent player and some money to keep them going a bit longer until the inevitable.derbystiger wrote:Evalds would be my choice. Re: FULL BACK
Sign up a recognised and solid full back now and we are on our way following the Liam Watts news.
For me, we would then be in a stronger position than last year....

A recognised full back and the team will be complete.

Re: FULL BACK
Watching Evalds on Sunday, he looked very comfortable all afternoon, especially under the high ball. He looks like nothing fazes him, which for a young lad at 24, is promising.

Re: FULL BACK
he would certainly be a good fit and improve the team but where does that leave benny? If he comes straight back in at half back that pushes ellis and trueman backwards.

Re: FULL BACK
maybe 3 forwards plus benny on the bench, who can cover halves, 13, 9 and 1 if need be?lurcher wrote:he would certainly be a good fit and improve the team but where does that leave benny? If he comes straight back in at half back that pushes ellis and trueman backwards.
Re: FULL BACK
I’ve been championing Evalds on here for quite a while, the same style of fullback as Zak, sound defensively, a good running game and pretty quick as well. Exactly what we need and if we got him we would be serious contenders.

Re: FULL BACK
How about a double swoop for Evalds and Lui with Roberts and Jy going the other way plus £100,00?

Re: FULL BACK
My sentiments exactly. Would not go near Lui. Would take Evalds and think he would fit into the role similar to Dorn.derbystiger wrote:Err, no thanks. Just EvaldsSharlotiger wrote:How about a double swoop for Evalds and Lui with Roberts and Jy going the other way plus £100,00?
Escare would be a good fit but doubt they would let him go this year.

Re: FULL BACK
According to 40/20 mag editor, Salford have been told to get their wage bill down to 1.3m so they have to offload some high earners. Not sure how much Evalds is on but I'd definitely take him to play 1, Benny to 6 and Ellis on bench. Jy out of contract this year so could be a makeweight in a deal.
Re: FULL BACK
Use Benny from the bench to give Macca a rest - strong in the defensive line. Quick off the mark with good feet and a bit of a kicking game to keep the opposition guessing.
Ellis is not doing anything wrong at the moment to lose his spot at 6
