I would say we have an excellent squad without Watts, so if he gives us some aggression and steel in the middle we've got to be happy. If he gets a card out two we still have an excellent squad that can win.

Why do we always flash the cheque book at these idiots, the same idiots where the holding team want rid. We only have ourselves to blame.
Hope it is not the same muppet who decided on buying Zac if so he needs his head examining
dear me I think you should watch a nice game off bowls the nature off rugby league you need thugs with aggression in the team or you get bullied off the field. Did you thing Ronnie gibbs was thug lol oh dear old boy go watch another sport lol

Watts fills the spot many say we missed a big nasty prop ,an enforcer.
We'll that's what we've got.
It's usually the case such players tend to give away penalties,it goes with the territory.
Who ever you sign comes with risks.
We are not the only team to have players with disciplinary problems.
Whether it's getting into the wrong bed, fighting ,drinking, drug issues.
I would like to think that our coach ,board and director of rugby will have thought very carefully taking in to account recent events would have thoughtlongand hard before getting out the cheque book, top class local prop a big coupe by any standards.
I believe should a quality full back became available we would throw our hat in the ring.
I will judge the lad on his actions on the field so Liam welcome aboard,

Very true and you only have to look at Ben Westwood as an example - penalty machine but one of the longest serving players in SL and probably the oldest now. Not a bad career for a recidivist!

Fair dos if hes being accused of having off field problems by radford dont blame him for asking radford to explain what they are

watched tonights game in the pub over here in brid as usual with a mixed crowd of rl supporters. it was a big talking point although no hull fc fans in there was an hull kr couple. they were sat at the other side to me and people were talking across us but I got the general gist of it. liam had been warned over turning up late for training more than once and radders told him it wasn't good enough and it better not happen again. it seems things were ok until we had all the snow and he struggled to get to hull from cas and was reprimanded even though some based nearer than him didn't turn up at all. they it was rhino's fans sat next to them they were talking to and they said it was fairly common knowledge that Kelly was getting away with murder and that's made it worse.
as I say they were kr supporters so could be stirring but I suppose it will all come out eventually.

I can assure you Kelly was the same at H.K.R. and I got told this from a director there.

Kelly has the shortest lead in the league at FC, he's on a 1 strike and you're out deal with them because they don't want a repeat of what he was like at KR.

watts was on radio Humberside tonight (at his own request) to give his side of the story before tonights game against Salford which hull lost. basically, he never envisaged ever having to leave hull but he said he speaks his mind and that often caused clashes with radders but its all water under the bridge now.

Think radford will soon be wondering if he should have given l.w few more chances , unless he can pick up a prop as good for the money he got ...good luck with that

An interesting piece about the Watts/Powell connection - with a clever last paragraph.

I remember Walt Watts well as a junior player up at Redhill. Lovely fella who had time for everyone.

I think it will be amazing for Liam to hear things Daryl was told by his Grandad!

Walt used to help coach Airedale Middle School team when Liam's dad and uncle attended there in the 70's. That hotbed produced Goodway, Timson, Hyde, Southernwood etc, whilst Redhill produced the Beardmores, Irwin. Walt's wife worked at the school, and both Walt and Val were salt of the earth, wonderful people.
