Re: Steve Gill
Whilst I do not agree with either the final decision or how it has been achieved I do readily accept it is time to move on, particularly as I can do nothing about either aspect.
Looking for a positive I take the comments about the England role from Daryl to be very positive news for Cas. It appears as though Daryl has turned down the England role as it's not the right time for him as he wants to concentrate on his role with Cas.
Whether this ties into the SG situation is still a guess (more good PR from Cas!) but whatever happens you can rest (un)assured that it will take time to recover the results on the pitch.

Re: Steve Gill
I left a company a few years ago under this type of agreement, known then as a 'compromise agreement' but I think it's changed it's name now. Had no effect on me as I was leaving to set up another company in a different sector, so gave me a few extra grand to play with (if I hadn't have been I wouldn't have agreed to the conditions). In my experience drawing up a compromise agreement has additional costs associated with it. Mine was dealt with between my solicitor and the company I was leavings solicitor, not a straightforward affair and both parties need to agree the terms and conditions aswell as any additional monies to be paid due to the restriction in place for 'x' number of years. It took nearly 2 months to reach figures we were both happy with! As ZH has been dismissed I would find it hard to believe that such an agreement could be reached, but I could be wrong.topper1208 wrote:That does actually happen in employment, a clause in contracts stops people leaving and working for rivals or setting up another business within certain timescales. Is it any indication that its Ian Fulton thats made the statement regarding the Roger Millward Trophy and not Steve Gill? Or is that just me reading too much into things?

Re: Steve Gill
Whilst those clauses may be added to a contract they are often not worth the paper they are written on and you can bet a pound to a penny that such a clause will not be in any RL player's contract.topper1208 wrote:That does actually happen in employment, a clause in contracts stops people leaving and working for rivals or setting up another business within certain timescales. You are correct in saying that a club can keep the registration of a player who has had his contract terminated but that player can request The RFL to remove him from the register and become a free agent.

We're all aware what the term means Robbo, I was trying to be optimistic. If SG is done perhaps Hudds should apply for the job !!!

Our lass is looking for someone to do a bit of bush trimming...
On a serious note, more poor management from Cas; either get rid or back him.
