Re: Steve Gill
Whilst those clauses may be added to a contract they are often not worth the paper they are written on and you can bet a pound to a penny that such a clause will not be in any RL player's contract.topper1208 wrote:That does actually happen in employment, a clause in contracts stops people leaving and working for rivals or setting up another business within certain timescales. So it is possible to retain or stop someone doing this without compensation being paidchesterfieldtiger wrote:Surely you can't sack a player and keep his registration? That's like me getting the sack but my company stopping me working elsewhere. That can't be right
You are correct in saying that a club can keep the registration of a player who has had his contract terminated but that player can request The RFL to remove him from the register and become a free agent.

We're all aware what the term means Robbo, I was trying to be optimistic. If SG is done perhaps Hudds should apply for the job !!!

Our lass is looking for someone to do a bit of bush trimming...
On a serious note, more poor management from Cas; either get rid or back him.

He wasn't at the game on Saturday, the first he's missed for some time...
Re: Steve Gill
I'm not knocking Steve, but do folks actually realise the huge strides the club has made in recent years is down to the BOD as much, if not more, as Steve personally?
I hope he is well and I will remember his time with fondness here.
