Did anyone go?

Would be good to read what was said (and I suspect put alot of the wild rumours gloating about to bed!)

There was no exclusives so to speak, appeared a very happy ship with plenty of laughing and joking from Daryl Powell and the rest of the coaching staff. I was very confident after leaving this meeting and will definitely take anything I read I read from people “IN THE KNOW” on here with a pinch of salt.

So are you saying that none of the doom and gloom naysayers asked any probing questions quoting the rumours they keep posting here?
Mitch Clark's signing permanently for Fev for example!

There was/is a cloud of gloom over the club. Mountains of negative posts on this forum, a GF loss after all the hope, our best player banned, a hammering at Saints, a silent crowd on Sunday...don't think Luke needs to explain his comment.

Yeah fair point i was more thinking if the coaches thought there were some issues that needed sorting , wouldnt say if there was anyway in public

The coaches were all very posative. Mitch Clark was training with Cas yesterday and proudly told Daryl he was the MOM on Sunday. The only doom is created on these forums and Facebook. There certainly was no doomed amongst the coaching staff last night .

Certainly agree with you on the doom and gloom merchants on here but at the same time the club could help to stop them moaning by keeping them in the loop and letting the fans know what's going on IE new ground, new players how they are performing and are they staying with us as in the Clark rumours and most of all what's happening with Zac

The doom and gloom merchants might be season ticket holders who buy them year on year with a valid argument about the club keeping us in the dark all the time and the same people who are concerned that dp has got it all wrong over The full back situation and how he should have signed one on month ago

Questions must have been asked about the recruitment or non recruitment since november and how dp sees the full back situation can anybody put on here briefly what the answers were

Lots of things were talked about last night. Main points were.....
On Hardaker...DP explained that because it happened so late in the season, it left it difficult to bring in a replacement as most players (especially those from Down Under) had already been signed up. He did get asked if there was money to use should a player he feels could improve us become available and the answer was yes. DP also said that ZH hasn't even had his hearing yet. Those other rumours are just that and nothing in them.
On the start so far... All of the Coaches commented that the WC had set our pre-season back by about 3 weeks and that they were bringing the players upto match speed as quickly as possible and have some players on individual routines. They acknowledged that the St.Helens game wasn't good enough but that the Widnes game was a step in the right direction, although the conditions and state of the pitches atm aren't helping either with the way we like to play.
On missing out on a WCC match...DP says he wasn't too disappointed on not having the secondary World Club Challenge game because he wants the main one. Asked about Wigan/Hull's excursion to Australia, he felt it wouldn't benefit either team in the long run this season because of the demands it places on their squads. ( Hull have already picked-up some notable injuries and they still have another match to play before meeting us).
On the England job...he said it was a non-goer.
On someone else playing Fullback for us from within our squad... He said because the position is so important to us with the way we play, there is no-one he feels could do the job as he wants. Hitchcox he sees primarily as a winger and young Turner just isn't ready yet. Someone mentioned Walker at Leeds and DP said that we play FB much differently to how they do.
On the 5k handed over by the CTSC....its going to be used on new Data Analyst software and a new cable gym machine.

Just remembered something else...
On having several players out on dual-reg and loan....Darryl said it wasn't ideal and would prefer a proper Reserve side, mostly because. although it gives players game-time, they have to learn different calls n moves at the other side whilst still also training with us.
On the signings we've made....DP is happy with what we got. He said we tend to go for projects that he feels can improve and that we have a squad that is capable of doing good things. He feels that we will be in a good place when everyone is upto speed. He did add that we have to make that final step of winning the big matches and obviously that's the aim of everyone at the Club.

Thanks for your input regards Meet the Coaches. Hope fans of the club will attend future meetings( If possible I will ) by reading your post, this will hopefully stop speculation coming from the faithful.
