Didn't it ever occur to the players to ask why?
Or did they ask and the club wouldn't tell them?

Leeds won the GF last year thats why they have gone. Every year since 1998 the GF winners have played in the WCC. We know the rules before the season starts.stuey wrote:If they have to send the second best UK team to Australia, a stuffing is what they end up with!!
The League leaders after 30 games should have gone, not the winners of an end of season k/o comp.
The whole last two weeks has been a joke. Why should the Hull & Wigan supporters have to forkout £1000 or so to watch a game that should have been played in the UK? Why should the second best side in this country be playing in the World Series match?

You really think after our showing at Saints and then struggling to beat Widnes on our own patch we'd have given Melbourne a game? I'm glad we were spared the punishment in all honesty.
I know, fancy them getting us to agree to throwing the GF like that.greenhouse wrote:we maybe would have got trounced on this seasons performance, but back in November when it was arranged we did not know how we were going to play now. this is a world club challenge via the back door and cas weren't wanted the rfl still stick with the private members club and we are not welcome.
They are. It’s called the World Club Series. The qualifying teams are the GF winners (WCC), LLS winners and GF runners up, unless they’re the same team then the other sides are invited.stuey wrote:Seriously --- Surely it is time that the League Leaders are given the right to play in the World Club Challenge. Why not announce a change and as from 2020, the winners of the LLS play for the trophy.
If not, then why not two matches ---- the GF winners matched up and the LL matched up.
